Tuesday Tutorials Week 28
Welcome to Week 28 of the Tuesday Tutorials Pintorials Pin Party! Last week, we saw a huge number of you had linked up with us. It’s great to get such a great response!
42 days Summer Activities
“This post is an entry for 42 Days of Summer Linky Challenge sponsored by McVitie’s BN.”
I recently signed up with Britmums to participant in this 42 Days of Summer Linky Challenge with McVitie’s BN biscuits. As part of the challenge, I received a packet of new BN biscuits in chocolate and in raspberry flavours. I had not seen or tried them before. They are a very new biscuit to me but according to some of my blogger friends, BN had been in the UK market before. I wish I had known about them earlier – they are so delicious! Both of my children adore the chocolate flavour. In fact, the children and I managed to finish the whole pack before Mr C had a chance to try one! Oops! Each biscuit comes with a cheeky wink which looks appealing. The biscuit is very crunchy and smells gorgeous. I would recommend them and personally will be buying them again.
Summer Activities A – Z: J
This is another great set of summer activities we did for the letter J yesterday! J is joyful and my children are a testament to that. They had so much fun at the National Forest Adventure farm.
Almond & Fruit Tarts
Yesterday, I was looking at fruit tarts from the supermarket and was inspired to try to make some for myself. I have always wanted to bake bite-size fruit tarts but know that getting the pastry right would be quite challenging. So I bought ready-made short crust for this first attempt and a tin of fruit salad.
Tuesday Tutorials Week 27
Welcome to Week 27 of the Tuesday Tutorials Pintorials Pin Party! We are in August now and we are preparing back to school materials and catching up with their school assignments. What about you?
Ice Cream Banana Crumble
My husband’s friend had given him a bunch of home-grown rhubarb and I decided to bake him rhubarb crumble using this recipe. But I had made too much of the crumble part and decided to make ice cream crumble for myself. So I mixed in almond flakes, sunflower seeds and chocolate chips into the crumble. I then laid it flat on to the Pyrex cooking sheet and baked for 10 minutes.
Moshi Monster Sea Life Centre
The National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham is set to welcome a trio of Moshi Monsters, characters from an online virtual world which has captured the imaginations of 85 million children across the globe, from Saturday 19th July, to Sunday, 31st August 2014.
Katsuma, Poppet, and Monstro City’s number one Moshling conservationist, Buster Bumblechops, are on a mission to save our amazing marine creatures.
Tuesday Tutorials Week 25
A huge welcome to Week 25 of the Tuesday Tutorials Pintorials Pin Party! It is going to be a busy week for us as both my children have finished school for the summer holiday! Six weeks of having them at home! Hopefully, we can share some of our crafts with you soon.
Cherry & Chocolate Chip Muffins
Today is National Cherry Day. I am so pleased to team up with OXO Good Grips to celebrate the day and bring you this simple recipe.
Lavender Shortbread
Three years ago, we had a landscape gardener design our front and back garden which included rows of lavender. The small patch of grass we had in our front garden was filled with yellow, golden stones. This year, the lavender has really bloomed and fills the front garden with a nice sweet smell. I’m really pleased with it this year – they’re absolutely gorgeous!
Tuesday Tutorials Week 23
A huge welcome to Week 23 of the Tuesday Tutorials Pintorials Pin Party! There’s not long to go before the schools break up. In Scotland, it is already the Summer holidays. Both my children can’t wait for the Summer holiday as they know they will be having fun going to the park and also taking part in plenty of activities.

Edd Kimber’s Mixed Berry Traybake
From 8 – 13 July 2014, Jordans Cereals is unveiling ‘The Jordans Wildlife Garden’ at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. It has been created by award winning garden designer, Selina Botham, to reflect a long-term commitment from Jordans to the British countryside.
As part of the countryside celebrations, Jordans has enlisted the taste expertise of Great British Bake Off winner, Edd Kimber, to create a series of foraged food recipes inspired by The Jordans Wildlife Garden. The range of three exciting new recipes: Mixed Berry Traybake with Rosehip Syrup, Cherry Plum Crumble with Cobnuts and the Alpine Strawberry Fool.
Chinese Roast Pork
Sometimes it is difficult to buy the Chinese food that I crave for. So this year, I challenged myself to try cooking more Asian food. I am an amateur at cooking but am keen to learn. I took this recipe from Rasa Malaysian. I was so pleased with the results! Click here to see her recipe.
I bought the pork belly via the butcher as I could tell them the size of the pork I needed. The bigger the better as it shrinks quite a lot.
