Pyrex Cooking Sheet Review

10 March 2014 by Eileen

Until today, I had never seen or knew about glass trays for ovens.  In my mind, oven tray are always those dull and black rectangular trays.  Now seeing this Pyrex Multi-Purpose Cooking Sheet, I think I could get rid those dull trays which my food always sticks to.

Pyrex Cooking Sheet Review

This Pyrex sheet is very heavy for a start!  It is very well made with heat resistant with glass.  It measures 32 cm x 26 cm.  It is very shallow but great for presentation and also great for preparation to baking.

I made one of my favourite snacks – cinnamon puffs.  I placed them straight onto the Pyrex sheet like how I would put it on a baking sheet in the oven tray.  But this time without wasting a baking sheet!  I put it in the oven for 15 minutes at 160 degree.

After I took it out from the oven, I let it cool for 5 minutes.  Surprisingly only a few stuck on the glass but the rest came off easily.  I love how it can be used for baking and then presenting straight on to the dining table.

I had also used the Pyrex sheet to preheat spring rolls which worked well.

It can also be used in traditional and microwave ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers.  But you can’t use it on top of a stove (electric hob, gas burner, ceramic hob, etc.); hot dishes on cold/wet surfaces; cold liquids in hot dishes.

I love the convenience of this sheet and that it is easy to wash off without worry that I will scratch the surface.  The only downside is that it is quite heavy and as it is made from glass, it could break if you drop it.  I would recommend them as an alternative to metal oven trays.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

I didn’t know you could get glass trays either! I do love Pyrex so will definitely be looking for one of these to add to my collection!

I like the look of this, looks so much more modern and sleek than old metal baking trays.

I fiind that the metal trays do get old and tired quite quickly, glass is a great alternative to them.

This looks great I get fed up of using my metal tray which cant go in the dishwasher and this would be great for those party nibbles as you could put it straight on the table.
