Halloween Craft with Design Bundles

This October, we are getting super creative with Design Bundles to create a fun range of Halloween decorations for our home! Who doesn’t love Halloween? I have always enjoyed the build-up to Halloween which culminates in an exciting and fun day for all ages! It is a day where everyone just lets loose and dresses in silly or spooky costumes to impress. Some people will spend days decorating their homes getting into the theme.

Polaroid Play 3D Pen Review

This Polaroid Play 3D pen allows you to build your own 3D models with ease. You can also use their free Polaroid Play Trace app (App Store and Google) to stencil your own photographs and bring them to life or use the existing stencils to create and assemble 3D models! I love doing crafts as my pastime and this Play 3D pen is just what I need to create endless possibilities!

Halloween Pumpkin Carving Challenge

This week, I have been set a Halloween Pumpkin Carving challenge by my favourite brand Ryobi to carve our pumpkins with a twist! We were asked to use any ONE+ tool to carve a pumpkin! As regular readers may know, we have taken on various projects from building Pallet Playhouse, Pallet Climbing Frame and testing out the 36V Fusion Cordless Lawnmower. We are no strangers to Ryobi and are thrilled to be part of this project.

Last year, Ryobi had carved their Ryobi pumpkins using a ONE+ multi-tool and this year they want their followers to try their hand at carving a pumpkin using any ONE+ tool. You can either download the design from their pumpkin carving templates or it could be an original design! Remember to follow @RyobiToolsEU and tweet using #RyobiPumpkinChallenge hashtag to showcase your awesome pumpkins!

After looking around on Pinterest and Google for ideas using drills, I decided to carve a Tinkerbell pumpkin and a Flowery Pattern pumpkin using the Ryobi ONE+ drill.

Upcycled Wooden Crate Stool with Lights

We always love a challenge especially for crafts, DIY or transforming anything to something useful for the family. This time around, we are taking on the Energizer Re-imagination Challenge. We were sent a wooden craft box filled with random items like a tie, a ball of string, colouring pencils, clock, paper plates, craft equipment, a mop head and many more. After showing it to Mr K, he decided to make a stool out of the box itself.

DIY Fabric Toilet Paper Holder

Recently, I went to the Hillary Blinds craft event in Birmingham to learn how to make a fabric book cover and a bird. Since then, I keen wanting to make a fabric toilet paper holder for the family bathroom toilet. The kids use this toilet the most and it is very plain. We have not yet tackled that room and left it as it was when we bought our home. There is no mirror, shower panels or any pictures. So I took up Hillarys’ craft challenge to use one of their four new fabrics to make something creative.

DIY Fabric Book Cover

Last week, I was invited to attend this awesome craft workshop by The Crafty Hen, kindly organised by Hillarys Blinds and Joe Bloggers. I must admit that I’ve never been inclined to hand-sew anything as I would much prefer to use a machine to do all the work! Anyway, I went down to the Custard Factory in Birmingham. The Custard Factory used to be the location for Bird’s Custard but has since been redeveloped and are now occupied by creative and digital businesses, independent shops, cafés and bars.

In the workshop, we were taught two different crafts which were to make your own bespoke fabric notebook cover and a 3D bird. All the six different lovely fabrics were provided by Hillarys Blinds which are their latest design.

Making a fabric book cover is very simple and straightforward and great for beginners. This craft requires minimal sewing and time. It take approximately 10 – 15 minutes.

DIY Magnetic Chalkboard

Last year, I was sent an oak mirror but unfortunately the mirror part was broken, so I had saved the frame for any future use. Last week, BOSCH had sent me the IXO screwdriver to do a creative post. I decided to turn the oak mirror frame into a children’s DIY magnetic chalkboard.

DIY Coca-Cola Fairy Light Bottles

DIY Coca-cola Fairy Light Bottles! Recently, I had a mini task from #cbias to do a World Cup #BigMatchPlanner #Shop with Coca-Cola. This has inspired me to make some World Cup crafts with my children. We recently made football paper plate crafts, England straw flag and England flag topper. I bought the pack of Coca-Cola Zero along with mini Coca-Cola bottles. So now I am upcycling the bottles into a fairy light bottles.

How to Personalised Upcycled Wine Glass

Personalised Upcycled Wine GlassRecently, I was sent Scotch Magic tape to do an Easter Egg challenge but it seem there are many bloggers doing the same challenge. I decided to make something different so I asked my close friends for ideas and Pippa suggested to paint on glass instead of an egg. This sounded like a nice challenge so I used my one of the odd wine glasses and the Baker Ross liquid wax pens.

DIY Circle Icing Cutter by Using a Syringe

Some of you might be aware that I am the host for the Something Special Twitter Party this coming Thursday!  Now I am busying getting ready the games and party food.

My children love to help me to bake, cook and decorate.  We were given a pack of 12 fairy cakes and a pack of icing for this party.  Although we love baking, I do not own any icing cutters, especially one so small for the Something Special spots.  So my clever husband thought of using a syringe.

We have plenty of Calpol syringes.  So what he did was to use a pen knife and cut one through.  He took off about 1 cm off the top of the outer layer of the syringe.
