I have two children who wake up without fail before 7.30 am but I am lucky that they will play with their iPad, play together or with their toys and don’t disturb my husband and I while we sleep on. Then at 8 am, I will tell them it is tell to go down to have their own breakfast.
Bring Barny to Scotland
This post is an entry for BritMums ‘Winter Little Adventures Challenge’ sponsored by Barny, individually wrapped bear-shaped sponges with a hidden filling. Find out more about Barny here.
Last year, Ms C took Barny out to explore the nature in autumn where she went on to look for insects. We have tried their chocolate and milk flavour. Now they come in two new delicious flavours: Apple and Strawberry filling. It is a sponge cake with a hidden flavoured filling. They come in a multipack of 5 single packs (5 x 30g) which is great to take out in a lunch box or as a quick snack as they are individually wrapped. They are not suitable for people who have allergies to wheat, gluten, soya, milk, eggs or nuts. They do not have artificial colours or preservatives.
My Leftover Challenge with Knorr
As a SAHM, I always plan our meals and try to make sure that nothing goes to waste. But during the festive season, it is easy to go overboard and buy too much food, ‘just in case’. I am so excited to join Mumsnet and Knorr to create my own recipes or to try out Knorr recipes to do this challenge. I decided to make up my own recipes.
31 Days with Ryvita Challenge
After all the festivities, I have no doubt that I have put on a few pounds as my regular exercise class has been on a break. I guess bargain hunting in the January sales does count?! We have been eating lots of chocolates, sweeties and even baking cake! Now I need to reign that back a bit and start my healthy eating plan!
Next week, it will be a nightmare with the breakfast routine as the schools reopen and Mr C goes back to work after a long break. But not too worry, as Ryvita has set me a new challenge for this January with 31 easy ways to spruce up a healthy eating plan. From spicy Cracked Black Pepper to sweet Fruit Crunch, the classic rye Ryvita® Crispbread range will give this January some crunch. I hope to be inspired with a variety of toppings, recipes and serving suggestions that will carry me through the month; completely guilt free.
Sainsbury Live Well For Less
Food prices are always on the rise. Have you thought how to make your budget stretch? I love to cook for my family as you can be sure of what’s in there. There won’t be any nasty ingredients nor too much of the unhealthy ones. Sainsbury’s Live Well For Less have challenged a few parenting bloggers to share advice and savvy suggestions for using basics to create everyday food, without compromising on quality.
Carpet Art Iron Man
Not long ago, MoreThan had teamed up with award-winning artist Ed Chapman to create the world’s first-ever ‘ruined carpet art’. It is a fifteen-foot sized piece using living room carpet as a canvas and created out of the most common household stains.
OXO Good Grips bring British Tradition to the Table
I have been celebrating my 11th year in the UK. During these times, I have enjoyed British foods like Sunday Roasts and Big Breakfasts etc. Cooking tradition British food however is not going to be easy with me as I am not very familiar with it. I am so excited that I am able to participate in the Great British Food Fortnight blogger challenge with OXO Good Grips.
As many will know OXO Good Grips are a great brand who do innovative consumer products that make everyday living easier. For this weeks challenge, I cooked a roasted pork joint and served with oven chips. I used the OXO Good Grips Poultry Shears and OXO Good Grips Julienne Peeler to help me along.
Road Trip down the Lanes
Today, I would like to share with you my secret lanes. I’ve lived in Lichfield for quite sometime but not many people know about these lanes and the small village of Wall. But of course it is famous for Letocetum, the remains of a Roman settlement.
The School Holiday Charcoal Challenge
Today is the first day of the school holidays and it was a mad day! I invited a couple of Mr K’s friends and their mothers plus two close friends along. As there are two toddlers too, I started the BBQ and cooked most of the food before they came. This was for safety, from the hot BBQ and the smoke. I bought a couple of disposable BBQ trays and propped them up on top of some loose bricks to prevent it scorching the patio. To fan the coals, I borrowed the children’s hand fan! They are so handy for hot weather or BBQs! This is my School Holiday Charcoal Challenge.

Kids Grow Wild Challenge
Both of my children love gardening. They always want to help me water the plants and pull up weeds. Now the weather is getting warmer, it is the perfect time to get out into the garden to give it some TLC. Last year, we planted broad beans directly in the soil but it was eaten by slugs as they began to grow. This year, I bought a seed tray to help our flowers grow first before we re-plant them.
#SpecialK30 My Perfect Life
This is my entry for the BritMums/Special K – How I’ve Changed Linky Challenge
Thirty years ago, I was just a toddler playing with Barbie dolls. I always dreamed of being a Cinderella, finding a prince to marry and happily ever after. I always set myself a goal that I must find a boyfriend and be married by the age of 25. Kids would then follow and I would then be a housewife like my mum to look after my children and raise them well. Soon, I passed my adolescence and studied nursing. After working for a year and a half, I came to UK to work in Charing Cross Hospital. I came to UK alone and hoped to find new friendship. I think my fairy godmother answered my call.
