This is my first challenge as a Bostik Blogger and looking through the crafting box, I decided to make a Chinese New Year Paper Plate Drum as part of the Chinese New Year theme.
Our Super Soft Mission
This post is an entry for Mission Deli Wraps “Our Super Soft Mission” challenge.
Celebrating the #LittleThings Freixenet
Freixenet, the UK’s leading sparkling wine brand have been inviting the nation to celebrate the #LittleThings in Life. So they invited a few bloggers to join in and document the moments that give us that secret ‘yes’ feeling. Whether it’s grabbing the last Frozen toys, managing to save your toast from burning or finding the last car park space in an event! They are all worth celebrating!
Andrex Clean Campaign Challenge
Being a parent for almost seven years, I have often found brown patches on the bathmat after someone earlier was getting changed while sitting there. Each time, I have to name and shame one of my children and keep telling them how to clean themselves after going to the toilet.
In fact according to Andrex®, 34% of parents rate teaching their children how to be clean after going to the toilet as the most difficult parenting task, beating teaching them to brush teeth (15%), holding cutlery (5%) and blowing their nose (3%). So I am not the only one facing the same problem. Therefore Andrex® wants to start a conversation around what being clean really means and demonstrate that how we clean and care for our intimate areas can make a huge difference, not only to our physical wellbeing but to how good and confident we really feel. It’s done this by creating the Andrex® Clean Routine and this is the guide.
Birds Eye #Afterschoolchefs Challenge
The summer is finally over as it is getting colder and it is back-to-school time now. I am so pleased that both children have been able to settle back into their routine quickly. But actually I struggled a bit! After I had not cooked for three weeks after a holiday in Singapore, I struggled to take up the pots and pans!
Luckily, Birds Eye knows it is not easy to get back to routine and offered us to take up this challenge via Britmums. So I went to our local supermarket and bought a lot of delicious looking Birds Eye frozen foods like fish fingers, crisps chicken, peas, potatoes waffles and others.
Arabian Night Turkey Tagine
British Turkey has teamed up with Red Tractor to find the UK’s best recipe using great British fresh seasonal produce in the #TurkeyTractorChallenge competition.
The lucky blogger winner will receive a voucher worth £200 to the supermarket of their choice and be invited to receive their award at the prestigious British Turkey Awards at The Savoy, London on September 25th 2014. The two lucky runner’s up will receive £50 worth of supermarket vouchers. The closing date is 22 August 2014.
The theme for the competition is ‘Arabian Nights’. So I have asked a couple of friends for advice as I have not tried cooking Arabian food before. They suggested to cook turkey tagine using a Pyrex slow cooker.
Young Games Inventor 2014 Competition
Brainbox recently launched a competition, called The Young Games Inventor of the Year. They are on the lookout for the next young games inventors and in particular for any great board game ideas they might have! They invite entries into the Young Games Inventor competition, where prizes include winning your height in BrainBox games and the chance to see your game made up.
Crispy Kartoffelpuffer (German Potato Pancakes)
To celebrate the World Cup, OXO asked if I would like to create a different cuisine of one of the 32 participating countries mouth-watering recipes for the World Cup Blogger Challenge. Without hesitation, I backed Germany to win and picked two utensils to cook two German dishes: 2.8L Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl and Potato Ricer. This recipe is inspired by a proper Kartoffelpuffer recipe (please see below) with a few additional ingredients.
Chinese Spice Chicken Wings
This recipe is for Red Tractor #RTChallenge. This is my seventh recipe, Chinese Spice Chicken Wings, and my last post for using Red Tractor Assured ingredients they provided. Do check out the rest of my other recipes like Gressingham Duck with an oriental twist, salad with couscous, homemade pizza, rhubarb crumble, Chinese almond cookies and Chinese ABC soup!
Quick Sprinkle with OXO Shake & Flavour
Occasionally I have to cook three to four individual meals for my family. I am the only one who eats hot and spicy food while the rest don’t. Ms C is very picky and fussy! She only likes plain food with a limited selection of vegetables. Mr C and Mr K loves their meats, particularly a nice roast.
I am lucky to be picked to test out a range of OXO Shake & Flavours. I see these as being a great time saver in cooking individual meals!
Gressingham Duck with an oriental twist
This recipe is for Red Tractor #RTChallenge. This is my sixth recipe using Red Tractor Assured ingredients they provided. Do check out the rest of my other recipes like salad with couscous, homemade pizza, rhubarb crumble, Chinese almond cookies and Chinese ABC soup!
Salad with couscous
This salad recipe is for Red Tractor #RTChallenge. This is my fifth recipe using Red Tractor Assured ingredients they provided. Please click here to learn more about Red Tractor and their food assurance scheme. Do look out for the Red Tractor logo on a huge range of products. The logo will appear in a variety of positions. It could be on the front, back or side of the pack.
This time I am using up all the salad and vegetables from the hamper that are left in my fridge!
Homemade Pizza
This recipe is for Red Tractor #RTChallenge. This is my fourth recipe for the Red Tractor challenge. This time round I am baking pizza. I had slightly modified my Chinese steamed bun recipe to make this pizza base. Using strong white flour makes the base firmer and chewier. If you prefer less chewy, then add more plain flour. Instead of milk, you could use water instead. As I mentioned I think milk gives a nicer flavour/fragrance.
Rhubarb Crumble
This recipe is for Red Tractor #RTChallenge. This is my third recipe to cook rhubarb crumble using the hamper full of delicious Red Tractor Assured ingredients they provided. We used the British grown rhubarb from Waitrose and British butter from Morrisons. My husband took this recipe from BBC Goodfood but modified it slightly.
Chinese ABC Soup
This recipe is for Red Tractor #RTChallenge. Last month, I took part in Red Tractor’s blogger challenge. The challenge is in two parts, the first is to create three recipes using the hamper full of delicious Red Tractor Assured ingredients they provide. The second is to try and only eat Red Tractor Assured ingredients for a week and blog about my experience.
