How to make a Witch Hat

Halloween is approaching and I have been thinking up things to do with my children. Ms C’s teacher has given her a workbook to share what she did over the weekend or things she could do.  So I remembered a very simple recipe to make a witch’s hat using an ice cream cone. Ice cream cones are one of Ms C’s favourite snacks. She only likes to eat the cone and not the ice cream. Having said that, last week, she finally tried ice cream and managed to finish one whole ice cream.

Pork Floss Bun

Ever since I tried a Pork Floss Bun from Breadtalk, I always wanted to find out how they make it.  Pork Floss Buns are Breadtalk’s signature product in Singapore!  If you ever visit Singapore, do give it a try. I absolutely love it. I am not sure if they still taste the same to what I had 10 years ago though!

JUST EAT: Order Your Takeaway Online

Have you ever struggled to find your local takeaway menu in your house?  We do in our house. They are often misplaced or they get recycled or we simply have too many of one type that you can’t see the wood for the trees. Another frustration we have is that small local businesses tend not don’t have their own websites or they never update it so we’re unable to check online either. Last week, I had to send my husband to drive 3 miles to get a takeaway (we lost the menu for this particular favourite of ours) and he had to phone me from there to tell me what they have as this local takeaway has no website.

Healthy Eating with Ryvita

Since being a mum, I have to juggle between school runs, play dates, shopping and after school activities and to eat healthy is not an easy task. Ryvita has introduced 10 great-tasting and easy meals. They are so easy to prepare as you can dip it, dunk it and devour it. As I was hosting the #something special party on Thursday, I also did not forget about feeding the mothers.  I had laid out a dish of different types of Ryvita products.

My Ice Cream Challenge

I am always up for a new challenge or competition especially cooking or baking.  As many will know, I am from Singapore and since I was brought up in an Asian country, my preferred style of is mostly Asian food. For this challenge I tried three different ingredients! I am going to make some unique flavours that you won’t be able to find in the shop! I am making a Milo, a Ribena and a Rosé flavour ice cream!

I have received this ebuyer Swan Ice Cream and Gelato maker to do this challenge.  Note that the freezer bowl has to be kept in the freezer until you are ready to add your ingredients and always use a tea towel to hold it.

How to make Bubble Milk Tea

15 years ago, Bubble Pearl Milk Tea used to be a premium tea where it would cost around S$4 (Singapore Dollars) and nowadays you can get it for S$1 in Singapore.  Recently, I have introduce my son to bubble milk tea when we were in London Chinatown. That cost us around £3.50 for a small cup.

Rio Sauces – A taste of Brazil

Personally, I have not been to Brazil or tasted Brazilian cuisine before. I was glad that I was sent three jars of Rio Sauces- A Taste of Brazil sauces for review. I always love to try new and different sauces especially from a different continent. I would never say no to trying new foods!

Just Add Flavour

I have to admit that cooking for an hour is really a long and painful process but I do love cooking healthy meals for my family. As Mr C works from home, I tend to cook for him too. It is also means I have less time to spend with children. They always know that when I cook, they are allowed to watch television or play computer games. The JUST ADD Squeezy Tubes range consists of squeezy Ginger, Coriander, Basil, Chilli, Garlic and Sun Dried Tomato and is available from ASDA and OCADO.

Walkers Mighty Lights Crisps Review

I had mentioned before that when I first came to England in 2002, my English ex-colleague introduced me to Walkers crisps and I never looked back. It is one of the best crisps I have ever had. It’s a scrumptiously thin crispy crisp. It makes my mouth water whenever I see someone eating it.  Every crisp is always so well-seasoned and tasty.

Tin Can Ice Cream by Sue Quinn

A few weeks ago, I reviewed The Kids Only Cookbook by Sue Quinn and mad my own popcorn with my children. Today, we made ice cream using a Tin Can and it was amazing! Since the sun was out today, we decided to cycle to our nearby Waitrose and bought the ingredients that we needed. They are:

  • 250 ml Double cream
  • 250 ml Single cream
  • 4 Tablespoon Caster sugars
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla essence
  • A packet of Salt

Scratch Vietnamese Chicken Ga Kho Gung

In April, I reviewed Scratch Singaporean Crayfish Laksa and Thai Green Curry.  I love these and would recommend them to anyone who are too busy but would still love to cook their own meals. They are much more authentic to Asian foods than any microwave meal. Now they have launched a new recipe: Vietnamese Chicken Ga Kho Gung. Living in Asia for most of my childhood, Asian food is always my first choice of food whenever I cook. I am so glad that I was given this new recipe to try.

Easy Meal with ilumi

ilumi is a County Durham food company who has been cooking up nut-, gluten- and milk-free foods for nearly a decade.  Their team of chefs and nutritionists combine the allergy-friendly ingredients to create delicious meals.  A fellow blogger, Laura CYMFT, kindly offered me a chance to test these beautiful microwave food pouches. ilumi kindly sent me two packets of Yellow Basmati Rice and two packets of Aromatic Thai Red Chicken Curry for us to review.

Cars Disney Multivitamin Gummies

Mr K is a healthy child and eats his regular meals. Even so, I regularly bought him vitamins, omega 3 and eye supplements. As a busy family with a lot of after school activities, sometimes they miss eating the right foods and the right amount of fruits.  Hence I always top him up with vitamins to ensure he is getting all his essential nutrients.

HelloFresh! Happy Cooking! Yummy Food!

Recently, I came across HelloFresh through Twitter and they were kind enough to send me a sample box to try out. Inside there are three different recipe cards and with all the ingredients inside the box to cook each meal for two person. These recipes are not the usual meals that I would cook for my family as I usually cook Asian food. So I was extremely happy to learn and cook these new recipes.
