JUST EAT: Order Your Takeaway Online

3 October 2013 by Eileen 18 Comments

Have you ever struggled to find your local takeaway menu in your house?  We do in our house. They are often misplaced or they get recycled or we simply have too many of one type that you can’t see the wood for the trees. Another frustration we have is that small local businesses tend not don’t have their own websites or they never update it so we’re unable to check online either. Last week, I had to send my husband to drive 3 miles to get a takeaway (we lost the menu for this particular favourite of ours) and he had to phone me from there to tell me what they have as this local takeaway has no website.

Just Eat Order Your Takeaway Online

I am so glad to find JUST EAT through Twitter and a few recommendations! I must admit, I was still a little hesitant about ordering online but am so pleased to have tried them today and I will definitely use them again! The reasons are simple: no more need to keep a stack of takeaway menus next to our fridge; quick and easy procedure and reliable takeaways!

Just go on to JUST EAT’s website and click in your postcode. It will tell you your nearest takeaways and their opening hours. There are different types of cuisine to choose from: Chinese, Indian, Chicken, Sandwiches, Pizza, Kebabs, Italian, Japanese, Greek, Moroccan etc. There are so many to choose from but it is dependent on the area you live too.

Once you select your choice of cuisine, it will bring you to the menu with the food items and price list. We chose a Chinese takeaway restaurant and ordered two starters and 3 main meals.  Next we selected a time for delivery and the earliest is at 5.45 pm as they open at 5 pm.

As we ordered at 2pm which is way before they even open, I was concerned that they might not receive our order!  Around 4.45 pm, I received an email to check if I want to change my mind!  It was 5.25 pm when we heard someone knock the door! I was extremely surprised to see they had arrived way before the time given. Maybe it was because it’s a weekday and they were not at peak time yet but we’re not complaining!

We were very pleased that all of our takeaway turned up and they even added a bag of prawn crackers!  These are our delicious and yummy food from Chung Ying Takeaway. It is our first time trying them out. As they are 6 miles away from us, we don’t know them at all nor do we have their menu. I would recommend them to anyone who fancies a Chinese takeaway! The food was beautifully cooked and tasty! I personally loved the starter – Chicken Satay! The satay sauce and the juicy chicken was amazing! There were four pieces and my son even ate two leaving Mr C to share his with Ms C! We also ordered a quarter Aromatic Crispy Duck! It comes with hot pancakes sealed in a plastic bag and with the rest of the ingredients nicely packaged in the plastic containers.  That went down so well!  We all love crispy duck pancakes!

Next, I had green Thai chicken curry with rice, Mr C had red Thai special mix curry with rice while both children went for special Chow Mein. It had been a long time since we had Thai cuisine and we both agreed that their curry is super spicy and tasty. The ingredients are fresh, meats are tender and the sauces were great! I would highly recommend these two dishes! Both children also loved their chow mein and asked for more.

I’m really pleased with my first experience of ordering a takeaway on JUST EAT. It is simple to order and great that you have many takeaway choices on one website. The prices are up-to-date too, so no more scrambling around for a few extra pounds when you discover that your menu is out of date. Note, some shops might be collection only and some may charge a delivery fee, but the JUST EAT website makes it very clear each time.

I would highly recommended JUST EAT for ease and convenience. You can even order while you are on your way home from anywhere, provided you have internet. They are a fantastic website for the local takeaways!

Disclosure: We were given the meal for free for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
