In April, I reviewed Scratch Singaporean Crayfish Laksa and Thai Green Curry. I love these and would recommend them to anyone who are too busy but would still love to cook their own meals. They are much more authentic to Asian foods than any microwave meal. Now they have launched a new recipe: Vietnamese Chicken Ga Kho Gung. Living in Asia for most of my childhood, Asian food is always my first choice of food whenever I cook. I am so glad that I was given this new recipe to try.
Each individual ingredient is in a sealed container that ensures the ingredients are fresh. Each of these containers are easy to split out, peel open and pour into the pot. This is straightforward and simple to cook. They are ready in 8 minutes and serves 2. I rate this 5 stars out of 5. We were very impressed with the depth of flavour and fragrance of the caramel sauce. This dish contain five elements: salty, spicy, bitter, sour and sweet. It will plunge you into Asia itself with its exquisite flavours that will make your taste buds tingle. The ingredients are fresh and the taste is on par with restaurant quality. SCRATCH meal kits are available from Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Budgens, Boots and online at Ocado.com.
A young company determined to revolutionise the ready meal category, SCRATCH provides a range of easy to follow recipes, designed by Michel Roux Snr., along with the freshly prepared ingredients. Each meal kit takes the same amount of time to prepare as a standard ready meal and allows the individual consumer to cook, without wasting money on superfluous ingredients.
