Draw, Wipe & Stick on Skribbies Shoes

12 August 2013 by Eileen 3 Comments

Are your children bored of the same design on their shoes?  Or do you have a child who simply loves to draw?  Now Skribbies Shoes enable children to draw and stick stickers on them!  They are a new and excellent product founded by young entrepreneur Jennifer Duthie.

She was inspired by the fabric paints of the 90s and wanted to develop a product for kids that was more versatile and would allow kids to keep on customising.

Colouring is useful in aiding the development of important skill sets like coordination, imagination, recognition of colour etc.  Drawing on shoes is just another type of canvas!

The shoes sizes start from junior size 10 to adult size 3 (children aged 5-10 year old).  They come in 3 different colours: Blue, Pink and Neon Black.  Inside the shoe box, it also comes with 6 pens (black, purple, yellow, green, pink and blue), wristband and a pack of Skribbies monster stickers!
We missed the launched in London, but later that week we did visit the PopUp Britain shop to pick up a pair of Blue Skribbies shoes for Mr K.  His first reaction was to take it out and start drawing!  He was so thrilled and that he didn’t even stop and look at us when we asked him a question!  He wiped off and refined his design and it kept him entertained for quite some time.
The pens provided are very chunky and made it easy for him to hold.  The range of colours are brilliant.  They are like marker pens and easy to draw.  The wristband provided has a pen loop to keep the pen on the go.   Mr K prefers to wipe it off using his fingers.  Typical child!  After an hour, the ink should stay on the shoes.
Mr K has worn the shoes for over a week now.  The high top velcro-strap shoes are comfy and very well padded in the right areas.  The soles of the shoe are thick and not slippery.  The ink and stickers do come off quite easily.  It is great that it can be used with any stickers but you need to use the pens provided.
Instead of lace, the front is elasticated and therefore stretchable.  Overall, they are comfortable, easy to clean, comfortable and we love it.
I rate this 4.5 stars out of 5.  This shoe will be one of the top Christmas and birthday gift lists for me!  They would be ideal for creative children and my daughter loves to draw on it too!  It is like owning a chameleon that changes their colour each time!

My friend +Anna Marikar is also reviewing the shoes.  This is her son wearing the Neon Black shoes.
