Eggnogg Colour In Review

11 August 2013 by Eileen

This month has been an exciting month for us. We were away to attend events in London but we also had a few days in where we did activities together. Today, we decided to have a lazy Sunday and I took out the Eggnogg for them to colour in. If you have not heard of Eggnogg.co.uk, they have grown from developing a range of greeting cards to keeping little people busy with a unique range of colour-in products.  The products have a no-nonsense attitude that both children and adults adore.  The bold designs allow for scribbles to find their way between the lines, helping challenge the senses through colour, texture and humour.

Eggnogg Colour In Review

We received a pack of Fairy Wings, a pack of Knights Helmet and a pack of Knights Tabard and Sword. They are great for family time! We all sat down and spent 30 minutes cutting and colouring.  Then the children spent the whole afternoon wearing them.

Firstly, Mr C and I cut out the templates while the children got their pens out ready for colouring. Ms C was quite insistent that she wanted to colour her tiara and wear her bracelet. Mr K was more excited to colour his tabard! Colouring is useful in aiding the development of important skill sets like coordination, imagination, recognition of colour etc.

They come in a small pack where you open up into a sheet of colouring paper. Then simply cut the templates and start colouring. As the paper is quite thin, they are easy torn. So next time, my tip is to stick them onto card or cardboard with double-sided tape/glue before cutting them out. This is to extend the life of the templates. The sword in particular is too flimsy. It is impossible to play fight with paper.

This is a great activity to do as a family and it helps to bring family together and sparks imagination for children. Both children enjoyed colouring and wearing them.  After all the fun, the templates can be recycled.  Ms C was quite sad when she had to take it off for bath time but this tiara and bracelet served her well today!  As for the tabard and fairy wings, it comes with velcro to stick on clothing.  They are easy to apply on the templates and clothing.
