HelloFresh! Happy Cooking! Yummy Food!

19 July 2013 by Eileen

Recently, I came across HelloFresh through Twitter and they were kind enough to send me a sample box to try out. Inside there are three different recipe cards and with all the ingredients inside the box to cook each meal for two person. These recipes are not the usual meals that I would cook for my family as I usually cook Asian food. So I was extremely happy to learn and cook these new recipes.

HelloFresh Box

I received the following recipes:

  1. Chorizo and Pine Nut Burgers with Red Onion Marmalade
  2. ‘Legendary’ Tabasco Jambalaya with Orange and Honey Chicken
  3. Rachel’s Oven Baked Risotto with Summer Vegetables

Recipes/Recipe Cards – 5 stars out of 5

I love the unusual and interesting recipes which I would never have thought of cooking them. I totally love them all and they are all recipes I’d use again. If you don’t like beef or even coriander, you are able to swap them.

The recipe cards are really convenient to use and provide step by step instructions with photos. I find having good photos on the recipe cards really helpful. Each meal is easy to prepare and ready within 30 minutes.

Ingredients –  5 stars out of 5

The chicken thighs are very fresh, clean looking and came without the skin. The chicken was tasty and delicious. The mince beef was also very fresh and came in an air-tight sealed bag. The ciabatta bread was nicely baked and every vegetable was nicely packed and fresh. Each of the ingredients like the Basmati rice and Parmesan cheese came packaged in the exact amounts. This is a brilliant idea as there is no wastage if you won’t want to cook them again. I love highly recommend their chicken and vegetable stock pots! They are so much better than the Knorr stock pot I normally use. Overall, I am very happy with the ingredients provided and they even included sugar, a packet of tomato ketchup, a mini bottle of Tabasco, balsamic vinegar etc.

Delivery – 4 stars out of 5

They only deliver once a week on Tuesday or Thursday. Do check before you order. You have the option to leave it with your neighbour or a safe place if you miss your box.

Overall views

We are very delighted with the choice of recipes and would highly recommend them to anyone. If you like to order your first box, remember to use discount code SWAPSIES! They are so much easier to order online than online supermarket shopping. All you need to do is select the box for 3, 4 or 5 meals and for 2, 4 or 6 people. There is no waste of ingredients or sauces as they provide the right amount but sometimes you do have surplus of vegetable. They are perfect for any busy couples or families and elderly who might have mobility restrictions.

These are the showcases of my dish:

HelloFresh Chicken HoneyHelloFresh Chicken
HelloFresh Risotto Veg HelloFresh Risotto

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
