15 years ago, Bubble Pearl Milk Tea used to be a premium tea where it would cost around S$4 (Singapore Dollars) and nowadays you can get it for S$1 in Singapore. Recently, I have introduce my son to bubble milk tea when we were in London Chinatown. That cost us around £3.50 for a small cup.
What makes the tea so unique is the pearl itself. My friend used to believe that the pearl is in fact is frogs’ eggs. I can reassure you that it is made from tapioca. They are chewy and slightly sweet. So last week, while Ms C went to Birmingham Eye Hospital for her scan, we popped by to Wing Yip Chinese supermarket to do some shopping. I bought Teh Tarik (3 in 1 Malaysian Tea) and ready made tapioca balls.
To cook the tapioca, firstly bring the water to boil and add the tapioca balls and sugar. Cook the balls until they swells slightly. Rest it for 10 minutes before put it into a drinking cup. Next boil water to make the Teh Tarik. Once done, give it a shake and add it into the cup. This is my bubble pearl milk tea.
lovely going to give it a go with the girls xoxox
wow, will definitely try this with my little girls!
I remember the first time I drank bubble tea in China town, London and I really liked it! Might have to see if I can try and make it at home.
Thanks for the post!
Sounds lovely! Must give it a go too! Thanks x
Sounds delishious 🙂
I only like bubble tea when it has the fruit popping bubbles in it, I hate tapioca!
