Walkers Mighty Lights Crisps Review

20 August 2013 by Eileen

I had mentioned before that when I first came to England in 2002, my English ex-colleague introduced me to Walkers crisps and I never looked back. It is one of the best crisps I have ever had. It’s a scrumptiously thin crispy crisp. It makes my mouth water whenever I see someone eating it.  Every crisp is always so well-seasoned and tasty.

A few months ago, Walkers came out with the tasty and a healthier baked crisps range: Walkers Hoops and Crosses which both of my children love especially because of it’s unique shape. Now they have launched another new product which is called the Walkers Mighty Lights Crisps.  They contains 30% less fat than standard potato crisps on average. This is good to know that we are able to enjoy eating the crisps without worrying about consuming too much of fat in our snack.

They are tasty, ridged crisps that come in three flavours – Roast Chicken, Cheese and Onion and Lightly Salted. These three great flavours happen to be our favourite flavours.  I personally love to eat roast chicken, my son loves cheese and onion and my daughter loves lightly salted.  As for my husband, he loves them all!

The ridged crisps are very crunchy. It took both of my children longer to chew through the crisps as they are firmer and slight thicker than those normal thin crisps. I always like how flavouring on Walkers crisps are evenly spread.  Every crisp will always taste equally tasty to the next one and the amount of flavour is always right. All the flavours are suitable for vegetarians, and are available in shops nationwide. They are made from real potatoes with no artificial colours or preservatives and no msg. It is always good to know what your food make of.  It is an interesting fact that potatoes are a source of fibre. Crisps are not always bad!

I love their new packaging with a shadow of a mighty hunky potato but it is a bit misleading.  I do hope if I eat mighty crisps that I will look like a strong woman. I rate this 4 stars out of 5.  I would recommend them to anyone who like ridged crisps as they are tasty and a healthier crisps range. I will definitely look for these in our supermarket. It comes in an 25g packet and it is a nice amount for children and adults. They are great for school lunch boxes and whenever we go out on a trip.

Please do be aware of allergy advice as it is made in a factory that also handles: wheat, gluten, barley, soya, celery and mustard.  You can also contact their Consumer Services team free on 0800 274 777 or 1800 509 408 if you would like more information.

Haven’t spotted these yet but they do sound good! I’m a great crisp over so a lower fat version sounds ideal!

These sound lovely,I always find the Walkers Crisps have more flavour than other companies, and it’s lovely t see they do Roast Chicken flavour which our my favourite, most companies just stick to Salted,Cheese and Onion and Salt and Vinegar in their low fat versions,

Sounds a great alternative to full-fat crisps.

Good to know Walkers are addressing the fat content of their crisps. My two are crisp monsters but I try to ration their intake. Might Lights seem to be a good alternative for an occasional treat.
