Rockets and Comets is one of the six new releases for 2014 by Orchard Toys! We had the opportunity to try it out at the Toy Fair 2014 and both children loved it.
Rockets and Comets is very similar to the classic game Snakes and Ladders. The concept is the same but set in a space theme and Orchard Toys have added an extremely fun variation to the game. Now if you land on the black holes, you will have to spin the spinner to see which black holes you are going to get transported into it.
Pirate Race Game is another exciting new release for 2014 by Orchard Toys! This is a memory and matching game, where players travel around the island, matching cards to build a pirate picture, before racing to the middle of the island to capture the Pirates’ treasure.
Farmyard Friends is aimed at age 2+ for 1 – 4 players. This is similar to Orchard Toys Post Box Game. Both have the same concept about teaching matching and sorting for very young children. But this in set you learn about the ducks, pigs, cows and horses.
Pigs in pants! This is the latest fun, amusing and lively matching game by Orchard Toys, launched in August 2013. My children love the idea of matching pants and they are such colourful pants too!
Post Box Game is aimed at age 2+ for 1 – 4 players. My first impression is that this is a big hit for both of my children. They both love to post letters.
I love playing board games with my children on our tiny square coffee table with two little chairs. Playing together is the best way to engage both children and to educate them while having fun along the way.
We were fortunate to be sent Animal Safari by Orchard Toys through Izziwizzi Facebook’s PlayFest for reviews. We are massive Orchard Toys fans in this house and we have collection of Orchard Toys’ games on our shelves. Orchard Toys are durable, have bright colours and normally contain an educational element!
Three Little Pigs is always one of my favourite children’s stories and Disney songs. It features three pigs who build three houses of different materials. A big bad wolf is able to blow down the first two pigs’ houses, made of straw and sticks, but is unable to blow down the third pig’s house, made of bricks.
We were fortunate to be ask to review Red dog, Blue dog by Orchard Toys through Izziwizzi Facebook’s PlayFest for reviews. It was an instant hit for both of my young children. Each time, when I get a match, I shouted “Bingo” and flapped my bingo wings. The children were creased up with laughter because I probably looked like a mad woman!
Red dog, blue dog is a fun first lotto game for very young players. It helps with early learning goals in personal, social and emotional development and creative development.
Jungle Express is a new jigsaw puzzle due to launch in August 2012 by Orchard Toys. This puzzle gives you the opportunity to talk with your child about what’s happening in the picture, while developing their observational skills. It is suitable for age 3 – 6 years old.
This is the latest educational game by Orchard Toys launched in August 2012. Monster Catcher emphasises on collecting and losing monsters in this fun, colour matching game. How many monsters can you catch?
Where’s My Cupcake? by Orchard Toys is an educational game that emphasises table manners and learning to share while collecting and matching your cupcakes. It contains 10 different types of delicious cupcake cards (total of 40 cards), 4 different colour plate boards, 1 recipe board and 1 instruction leaflets. It is suitable for age 3+ for 2 – 4 players.
The objective is to collect the most cupcake cards on your plate board. When you are unable to match any face up cards on the table or your own pile, the player will check on other players’ plate board. If the other player already has it, you will ask that player.
When I first showed the tangrams to my 4 year old son and told him I can do magic by creating animal shapes, his little eyes brightened up! The quality of the cardboard is excellent. It is not easy to tear and there are no sharp corners. The tangrams are very colourful and easy to hold by their little hands.
