Tangrams By Orchard Toys

4 May 2012 by Eileen

When I first showed the tangrams to my 4 year old son and told him I can do magic by creating animal shapes, his little eyes brightened up! The quality of the cardboard is excellent. It is not easy to tear and there are no sharp corners. The tangrams are very colourful and easy to hold by their little hands.

It didn’t take my son too long to figure out how to make the shape using the guide. He even made up his own kite, rocket and elephant. As for my 3 year old daughter, it is a bit of a struggle for her to understand. So I decided to ask her to put the puzzles back into the insert instead. And she enjoyed doing it!

One feature about the tangrams to note is that the surface is very slippery and smooth, so they kept sliding off the table for us which was a little annoying. So I used a non-slip mat (which you can get from poundland) and it worked like magic! Overall it is a great learning game which aids learning colours, shapes, stimulates hand-eye coordination and develops their imagination. Thanks to Orchard Toys and Izziwizzi Kids!

Disclosure : I received Tangrams through participation in playfest for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

Great review Eileen 🙂 I love the way you involved your daughter by asking her to put the pieces back in like a puzzle – very clever!Do you have stockist information (or weblink) and how much they are please?
