Cravendale Challenge

This post is an entry for BritMums #MilkDrinkersMilk Linky Challenge, sponsored by Cravendale.

I recently took up BritMums latest challenge #MilkDrinkersMilk with Cravendale to write about our family’s favourite way to drink Cravendale milk. For us, we use milk in so many different ways, like making a cup of tea or coffee, dunking a favourite biscuit into warm milk, drinking it cold with their favourite chocolate straw, making milkshakes, breads, soups and many more.

Cops & Robbers Board Game

Mr K is a very imaginative child who loves to invent little games and often comes up with lots of creative ideas. As a parent, we are always there to support and nurture him. So when we came across the BritMums Linky Challenge with Petits Filous, Mr K’s cogs started turning.

Petits Filous Magic Squares is a brand new range available in two delicious varieties, Strawberry & Vanilla flavour and Raspberry & Vanilla flavour. It comes with a unique quadrant shape of two distinctly different flavours. You can either taste one flavour at a time or totally mix it up. Petits Filous contains both calcium and vitamin D which helps build strong bones. They are available nationwide from April 2015 from Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda at RRP £1.89. We bought one for £1 in Tesco. My son loves it!

After seeing the squares, it gave Mr K an idea to make his own board game. This is not the first time he has made up his own board game. Last year, he made a Mummy Tummy Pyramid game and he was short-listed in the Young Games Inventor 2014 competition. Unfortunately, we didn’t get enough votes to make it through to the final.

Anyway, this is Mr K’s first draft for his Cops and Robbers board game. There are four rooms on the board game. One room will have the Gem that the robbers have to sneak through to get it before he gets caught by the cop.

Breville Blend Active Review

Recently, I tried out the Breville Blend Active to make delicious and nutritious smoothies for my family. I have to say I am very impressed with it being so easy to use and would highly recommend it to anyone. With the bottles as the main body, it is easy to turn the right way up, pop on the lid and bring out. It is also very easy to clean which is a plus point! I hate washing my old blender which is bulky and takes up a lot of kitchen space.

Creative Breakfast with belVita

“This post is an entry for #MorningWin Linky Challenge sponsored by belVita Breakfast. Learn more at http://bit.ly/belVitaUK”

Breakfast is something I always like to have and we always make sure that both children have their breakfast too. Even if they are late for school, I will bring their cereal bowls to eat in the car (without milk). Having breakfast is definitely the best way to start our day!

A2 Milk Review

Recently, I went to attend Britmums live 2014 and was very pleased to meet the representative of A2 milk. Not only did I broaden my knowledge about blogging, I also learnt that there are different types of proteins in milk including ones called A1 and A2. Regular dairy cows produce milk that contains both the A1 and A2 proteins. I never knew!

42 days Summer Activities

“This post is an entry for 42 Days of Summer Linky Challenge sponsored by McVitie’s BN.”

I recently signed up with Britmums to participant in this 42 Days of Summer Linky Challenge with McVitie’s BN biscuits. As part of the challenge, I received a packet of new BN biscuits in chocolate and in raspberry flavours. I had not seen or tried them before. They are a very new biscuit to me but according to some of my blogger friends, BN had been in the UK market before. I wish I had known about them earlier – they are so delicious! Both of my children adore the chocolate flavour. In fact, the children and I managed to finish the whole pack before Mr C had a chance to try one! Oops! Each biscuit comes with a cheeky wink which looks appealing. The biscuit is very crunchy and smells gorgeous. I would recommend them and personally will be buying them again.

I have been to BritMums live 2014

It’s been 12 months in the planning, but I’ve finally been to attend the Britmums live event this weekend! I bought the Britmums early bird ticket to make sure that I attended as I had always heard that the blogging conference was a superb event! So the day arrived and on Friday, I travelled alone to London Euston and managed to meet up with a couple of bloggers there. Arriving at the Brewery where the conference was held just before the event and there were already a huge group of people milling around there.

While queuing to get into the event, a lady from BBC interviewed me and I think I did my best selling my blog to her! At least I hope! After arriving inside, it was madness! There were so many people and very overwhelming. I was glad to meet up with some bloggers and started chatting. Later, we walked around to get to know to brands.

NatWest Mobile Banking App Review

When I first came to the UK, the first current bank account that I opened was with NatWest and I have stayed with them throughout. Being their customer for 10 years, I’ve had a lot of good experiences with them. I have no doubts I will stay with them for the foreseeable future. They might not have the best interest rate but their customer service and online banking are what continues to impress.

I still remember when I first used their telephone banking, it was so easy. When I went to Egypt, my debit card got stuck inside the cash machine and with one call, they swiftly cancelled the card. Later, I moved onto online banking and moving money in between my current account and other accounts is so easy. Checking my direct debits and creating standing orders are so easy too.

Now NatWest have introduced their mobile banking app which is easy to use, fast and secure, helping to manage money at a time and place that suits you.

Banana Cake with Morrisons

Morrisons invited several BritMums bloggers to become a #MorrisonsMum (or #MorrisonsDad!) and to go into their local store and spend £80 worth of vouchers on their bank holiday shop. We were really fortunate to get picked!

We are no strangers to Morrisons as they are my fortnightly shop especially for Fuji apples and poultry. I like their fresh meat counter as they are British meat and of course their meat is endorsed by Red Tractor. Red Tractor is a food assurance scheme which covers production standards developed by experts on safety, hygiene, animal welfare and the environment amongst other things. The Red Tractor logo on pack means your food or drink has met these responsible production standards and is fully traceable back to independently inspected farms in the UK.

So on Friday, I went to Morrisons and saw the instant changes they had made. They had big posters and label to highlight that this item is cheaper than anywhere else. It is very clear and bright. I totally love how they had revamp the whole shop to make it clearer for their customers.

belVita Breakfast #MorningStories

I have two children who wake up without fail before 7.30 am but I am lucky that they will play with their iPad, play together or with their toys and don’t disturb my husband and I while we sleep on.  Then at 8 am, I will tell them it is tell to go down to have their own breakfast.

I always prepare everything the night before so that we won’t be rushing around in the morning.  These are the regular tasks:

Shortlist: Brilliance in Blogging Awards (BiBs) Video 2014

Firstly, I would like to thank you my readers who voted for me through to Britmums Brilliance in Blogging Awards (BiBs) Video 2014. I have not asked for any voting since the initial nominations but now I am absolutely thrilled to say that we have been shortlisted for the BiBs Video! I would be therefore be hugely grateful if you could click here to vote for us under Section 9 – ET Speaks From Home! If you don’t have time, it is fine! But thank you for voting for me to go through to the shortlisting.

Also I would love to thank my two beautiful children who generally behave, are upfront with the camera and help out with all the toy reviews. Without them, it would not be as successful. We’ve gone from 0 subscribers to 627 on my YouTube channel within one year which is a great achievement for us! I still remember when I first published my video, I cringed each time I watched it. Now I have improved but there is still plenty more room for improvement! So in the near future, I hope I can bring a better quality and more detailed vlogged!

Last week, I went to attend tots100 blog camp #BCUK and Sally mentioned about iMovie. This is my favourite video editing app on the iPad. We have made a few reviews using the trailer mode. So last Sunday, while Mr C busy was busy working in his home office, we made a video using iMovie. This is purely for fun. I got both children to dress up in their superhero outfits and took the clips via my iPad. Next I edited it and uploaded straight to my YouTube channel. This is a free app and very simple to use! So I hope you enjoy this clip we made. Please do bear in mind that there are a few mistakes. I should have really edited the words but I left it as it is. Some of the text does not make sense. Bye for now and thank you all so much!

And Happy 2nd Blog Anniversary to us!
