Our Entry Kids Capture the Colour Challenge

2 September 2013 by Eileen

Following the success of last summer’s photo blogging competition Capture the Colour, Travel Supermarket has teamed up with Venture Photography to launch ‘Kid’s Capture the Colour’, an exciting challenge for children aged 15 or under to get creative and photograph the world around them. I was the 101st applicant. Fortunately for us however, someone dropped outgiving us the opportunity to get a free digital camera from Travel Supermarket to get my children to capture the colours of red, blue, green, yellow and white while on their summer holidays.

The first photo is the RED colour.  This is the shoe house in Wonderland Midlands theme park. My son and I stood on the steps while waiting for everyone to clear off before we took this shot.  Luckily, we didn’t need to wait for too long. Inside this shoe there are a lot of children and the old woman. It is based on the nursery rhyme – There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe.

The following is Ms C’s effort for blue. She wanted to show how blue the sky is.  It was in fact quite a hot and sunny day but she managed to snap quite a big cloud instead.

This photo is for the green category which we found inside a maze. The green sign confused Mr K momentarily before he regained his unadulterated confidence of knowing exactly where to go.

This is a yellow colour bear sitting on top of the alphabet block. For this shot, I had to hold onto Mr K while he stood on the fence to take this cute bear.

Last but not least, these are the white polar bear family of soft toys.  They are on a display in a bigger group sitting around relaxing. This shot is taken by Mr K.

Mr K, 5 year old and Ms C, 4 year old loves being able to preserve their adventures by clicking and making a ‘photo diary’ wherever they go. Thanks to Travel Supermarket for this challenge and making a fun day even better!

Disclosure: This is my entry for Travel Supermarket’s Kids Capture the Colour Challenge #KIDSCTC and I was given a camera to do this entry. I have photos of him taking some of the shots provided above to prove that he was the one who took the photo. Please ask if required.
