RHS Collage the Botanical World Review

4 June 2024 by Eileen

The brand new RHS Collage the Botanical World book was published last week and is packed with a stunning collection of 1000 images from the RHS archives. The book is published by Frances Lincoln at £16.99 and is available now to buy here.

RHS Collage the Botanical World Review

Whether you are a newbie or just looking to create some awesome collages, look no further, this book is ideal for you. You can make garden design mood boards, inspirational pieces, birthday cards, or even your own unique wall art. The sky is the limit!

Inside this book, there are collections of vintage artwork, birds, insects, animals, fruits, vegetables, flowers, leaves and other botanical illustrations. The illustration prints are nicely spaced apart and provide plenty of room to cut around. Some of the popular illustrations like leaves, fishes and frogs have more than one and it is on repeat. Not all the images are coloured as some are in black and white, and some are like photography background pictures in A4/A5 size.

Images are printed on smooth thin matt surfaces. The paper itself is thin, but not too thin that it will break apart when cutting. It is still good quality paper. It is definitely better than magazine paper quality.

The downside of this book is that there are no tags on the images. I have no idea what some of the images are, especially with the flowers and fishes. I am not great at recognising different types of species. Of course, you could use Google to find this but it would have been more convenient to include it on each page.

Overall this is a great book for people who are into the botanical world for doing up their scrapbooks, cards or other crafty things.

Disclosure: I received this sample from the publisher for free. However, they have not paid me for this review, and they do not exercise any editorial control over my review or anything else on this site.
