Smash Down is a family trivia fastest finger game from Ideal Board Games. It is suitable for ages 8 and onwards and for three to a maximum of four players. You could play as a team of two and have eight players if you wish.
Inside this box, it comes with instructions, 4 finger pointers, 200 double-sided question cards stored in a sturdy box and four double-sided game boards. The finger pointers are well-made colourful plastic sticks. But I do find the finger pointers are not comfortable to hold as they are quite flat.
The object of the game is to be the first player to point to the correct answer and shout to win the card. The first player to collect 6 question cards wins the game! To play this game, place either the pink-coloured background game boards face up or the black-coloured background game boards face up. The question master reads out a question card. These are double-sided question cards. Make sure you use the correct coloured question card. For example, if you are playing black-coloured background game boards, use the black-coloured background question cards.
After the question master reads aloud the question card, the players must race to smash the answer on the game boards using their finger pointer and shout “Smash Down”. The winner will win the question card. After each round ends, you are allowed to rearrange the game boards or flip them over. Carry on the game until one of the players collects six question cards.
We all enjoy this fastest-finger game. It is ideal for four players to play. If playing with a larger group, it can get quite crowded. It is available to buy from John Lewis, Smyths, Tesco and Amazon.
