Digital Prints from Movies and Games take over the Internet

Digital prints have always been moderately popular, floating around on the odd website or two, with fairly average designs that would suit, say, a holiday home or something along those lines.  In the past year, however, we’ve seen a monstrous rise in digital prints that are based on films, video games, a bit of both…

Road Trip down the Lanes

Today, I would like to share with you my secret lanes. I’ve lived in Lichfield for quite sometime but not many people know about these lanes and the small village of Wall. But of course it is famous for Letocetum, the remains of a Roman settlement.

This road trip is my regular route for the school run. In order to avoid the morning traffic down the A5 and M6 Toll, I drive down these lanes. The road is call Claypit Lane. Driving down this road, all we can see are hedges and crops. We are very near farms and it’s nice to see how their plantations grow through the seasons. My kids love to see the big farm machines during harvest time.

Hello Fresh! Happy Cooking! Yummy Food!

Recently, I came across Hello Fresh through Twitter and they were kind enough to send me a sample box to try out. Inside there are three different recipe cards and with all the ingredients inside the box to cook each meal for two person. These recipes are not the usual meals that I would cook for my family as I usually cook Asian food. So I was extremely happy to learn and cook these new recipes.

Schleich Dragon & Griffin Knights

Last week, we went to Warwick Castle to meet Mike the Knight and bought our six Schleich Dragon & Griffin Knights with us. Come and follow our adventure!

Meeting Mike the Knight at Warwick Castle

We had a fab time meeting Mike the Knight at Warwick Castle. I would like to thank HIT Entertainment Ltd who organised the trip and Warwick Castle for providing the event. This is our children’s first visit to the glorious Warwick castle and to learn about medieval history, magic, myth and adventure. It only took us 50 minutes to reach the castle from Lichfield.

#MADdayout Poster Friends

Has anyone heard of Poster Friend? I had not until a lovely lady told me about it and allowed me an opportunity to review it.
Basically, Poster Friend is a poster that uses your Facebook account’s images to make a poster. They comes in 6 different sizes from square small, square large, A2 landscape, A2 portrait, A1 landscape and A1 portrait. Price start from £12 – £25.
It is a straight forward app to use as long as you have a Facebook account and plenty of photos in your Facebook albums. Firstly, select the size of your poster and there are 3 options for the number of photos. Then connect your Facebook account and you are allowed to add two friends. Photos from yours and your friend’s shared albums (not private) are then made available for you to select from.
Once you select your photos, they allow you to re-arrange your photos, change the text, select margin size and background colour.
Please be aware that the photo will be cropped into square dimensions. It works better for landscape photos than portrait. This is an example of the photo on the poster and the original photo. As you can see, my children who at the bottom of the photo have been cut off from the poster. So it is best to select your photos carefully.

Vistaprint Photo Book Review

My little girl turned four last Tuesday. To mark this day, I made her a Happy Birthday photo book from Vistaprint, making a memory that will last her a lifetime. I have a keepsake box/time capsule box for both of my children containing items like their first scans to their first shoes. A photo book is something that I had not made before and this will be great for her reminisce over in future.

Portrait Photo Canvas from PhotoBox

photo box

We have hung our family portraits above our bed for a number of years now, ever since the kids have been able to pose nicely for photos. I enjoy the constant reminder that I am fortunate to have them and for us to have each other. So I was so glad to be offered to review this photo canvas!

Maplin 6-Inch Calendar Clock Digital Photo Frame

I remember 20 years ago, I had to beg my mum to let me develop the film from my disposable camera. Every birthday around that time, I would receive a photo frame. It was an ‘in’ thing during that time.
Nowadays, people rarely print photos and frame it on a photo frame to place it on a desk. Times have changed and everything is going digital. We all love the latest gadgets and how they made our life easier. So I was excited to review this lovely Maplin 6-Inch Calendar Clock with built-in Digital Photo Frame. Why print photos when I can just pop it on an SD card in this gadget to showcase a slideshow of photos?

Our Snowman

We all love snow for building snowmen!  This is our Chopstick snowman made by my husband and children.  It took them at least 15 minutes.  They all enjoyed building it.

Magic of Christmas

We are not Christian but living in the UK, our children more or less influenced to celebrate Christmas.  Naturally, they pick this up from school and friends.  We don’t want them to miss out and so we try to get into the spirit and let them enjoy the magic of Christmas.

Had both children’s picture profile

In the modelling industry, the one request by the modelling agencies are that we have to update the children’s profile regularly as their appearances change so quickly at a young age.
We were introduced to Susannah Conway Photography by our agency, Alan Sharman agency. It’s an affordable price and within 45 minutes for us by car.

Commercial Shoot for Ms C

Remember previously I had wrote a blog regarding a casting for a commercial shoot?Today, we were finally there to do the shooting at the scene. It was a long way though. We had travelled a day early to Worsley, Manchester and staying overnight at Novotel Hotel. We had a bit of problem checking in though as someone had taken our room! The person told the reception her surname and they could not find her on the system. Her daughter was a replacement for another model who was unable to turn up. I think they assumed that we were the ones who were unable to turn up – the receptionist was so shocked when we arrived!

It was raining when we got to the location for getting their outfit. The dressing area was located at a very posh house (worth £2.7 million after Googling it). All the child models changed into their outfits and got onto the bus which dropped us at the playground.

Primark – Finally We got Paid!

Last year December, Ms C had done two days of modelling for Primark to cover in-store window posters for UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. After 7 months, we finally got paid from Primark after a lot of mis-communication between the One Agency and Primark.
