Vistaprint Photo Book Review

30 May 2013 by Eileen

My little girl turned four last Tuesday. To mark this day, I made her a Happy Birthday photo book from Vistaprint, making a memory that will last her a lifetime. I have a keepsake box/time capsule box for both of my children containing items like their first scans to their first shoes. A photo book is something that I had not made before and this will be great for her reminisce over in future.

Vistaprint has been around for over 25 years and besides printing photo books, they also print photos on T-shirts to business cards. There is bound to be something for everyone if you need your photos printed as there is plenty to choose from. Photo Books comes in varies shapes and sizes. The one that I made is the Landscape XL (39 cm x 29 cm).  There are two ways of making your photo book: either download their Vistaprint app on your pc (allows 120 pages) or via their website (allows 70 pages).

Vistaprint Photo Book Review

Vistaprint App

The app takes up 11 MB of space on your pc. It is straightforward to upload and save your books. The app allows you to adjust the photos, enter texts, enhance your photos with editing options and personalise with backgrounds and layouts. It took me at least 30 minutes to create my photo book so it’s worth setting aside some time to complete it, though you can save and continue at a later date.

Photo Quality – Rating 5 stars out of 5

Most of my photos I used were over 2.3 MB in size. The print quality is superb with high contrast, rich colours, and a fantastic level of detail, all enhanced by the glossy finish.

Paper Quality – Rating 3.5 stars out of 5

It is printed on thin photo paper. My daughter was so excited about the photo book that she ripped one of the pages. This was an acute reminder that I have to handle this photo book with great care especially with children.

Covers – Rating 4 stars out of 5

There are three options to choose: linen, leather or photo cover. I opted for leather.  The black leather does not smell as some leathers do. It is very well finished.

Delivery & Packaging – Rating 5 stars out of 5

I ordered it online on a Tuesday afternoon and I received it on Thursday the following week. It is considered acceptable that they take less than 7 working days to delivery. They kept me informed my sending me an email to let me know it had been despatched. It was very well packaged and protected.  There was no unnecessary packaging. It was delivered by our local Royal Mail van.

Value for Money – Rating 4 stars out of 5

Their price is quite competitive. Overall, I am very pleased with the photo book and I will go back again.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
