How to Make Maths More Real, Relevant and Fun

Maths is one of the most important lessons you learn at school and the skills you learn in these classes are utilised every day of your life. However, it is no secret that many children don’t like it – finding it difficult and boring. But I don’t think so!

How to Make Maths More Real, Relevant and Fun

Skylanders Summer

This summer, we had so much fun and laughter! We did the summer activities A – Z and holidayed in Singapore! But not forgetting our Skylanders! They are still one of the PS3 games my son Mr K loves! He has targeted getting all the characters in each element by saving his pocket money. Over the summer, there are quite a few character deals online and he bought some to add into his collection.

Thanks to Skylanders for sending through the activities book, sunglasses and beach towel! Have you been wondering what the Skylanders have been up to this summer? Check out this epic sand sculpture of Kaos! How cool is that! His minions created to honour their boss on Gandia Beach in Spain! This is such an awesome sand sculpture! I bet a lot of fans would love to take a photo with him!

Ignite Your Valentine’s Day

Durex Embrace Sex & Relationship expert has kindly shared their three top tips:

  • Loving touch: Sensual stroking releases hormones that make skin and nerves more sensitive.
  • Take turns: Particularly for her, it can be amazing to concentrate on one’s own sensations without needing to return the favour.
  • Hold back: Introducing pauses in to the love act means passion builds physiologically higher, emotions zoom upwards and the climax is stronger.

Fun time at bath time

After a long day at work, don’t you just want to have a sit down and relax? Not spending enough time with the kids? Why not grab yourself a cuppa, place a comfy stool next to the bath tub to do the bath time routine. While your kids have a bath, you can have a bit of rest and chat with them.

Gelli Baff Review

Gelli Baff has teamed up with Izziwizzi Kids Play Fest® to help you raise money for Comic Relief. The theme for Play Fest® is Do Something Funny with Jelly. From Friday 8th March through to Friday 15th March on the day of Comic Relief they would like to celebrate with your funny jelly videos and share some fun jelly play inspiration. We were not involved in planning any fund raising events but I had donated a total of £14 to all our 7 Izziwizzi Kids Play Fest® teams for their hard work.

Fruit Bobbing

After the children return from school, they want to play and watch TV. I decided to play fruit bobbing instead to get them to eat their 5 a day as they didn’t have any fruit in school today. I think this is a fun way to get them to eat it.

Pick Your Own (PYO) Fruits Farm

June is always associated with Wimbledon, Strawberries and of course Summer! It is the start of the fruit picking season and HAY FEVER!
Last week, we went to Manor Farm Pick Your Own (PYO) at Tamworth and picked strawberries and gooseberries. As for the rest of the fruits like Blackberries, Blackcurrants, Redcurrants, Tayberries and Loganberries, these should be ready around end of June.
Unfortunately, after walking down the second row of strawberries, the trip had to be abandoned. My son and I suddenly got swollen eyes and the hay fever started. But it is great that both of my children enjoyed looking for and picking big, juicy strawberries through the thick leaves!
