Easter fun with Skylanders Superchargers

This Easter weekend, Skylanders challenged us with these two new Spring edition – Easter characters: Eggcited Thrillipede and Spring Ahead Dive Bomber. Have you seen them yet? Both of them are packaged in an egg shell which is definitely better than a chocolate Easter egg! Mr K is super eggcited!

Cluedo Review

Solving a mystery murder is a perfect way to spend your night playing with family and friends especially with a classic detective game, Cluedo!  Cluedo from Parker Brothers has intrigued generations of game-playing families for a long time.  It has always been one of my favourite games to play with my sisters!

Support Make A Wish with Skylanders

Listen up Portal Masters!  Today I would like to share this great news with all of you!  Activision announces it has teamed up with some of Europe’s top sports stars and entertainment personalities – including the UK’s very own Ben Collins (AKA ‘The Stig’) and former Formula 1 driver Max Chilton – who have designed seven customised Skylanders™ SuperChargers toys. The collaboration will see Activision donate the exclusive toys to Make-A-Wish, the world’s largest wish-granting organisation. The charity will auction off the models to the highest bidder, with the proceeds helping to support the many wishes that Make-A-Wish grants to children with life-threatening medical conditions around the world each year.

Alongside Ben and Max, well-known personalities from the racing world such as Timo Glock, as well as French TV presenter Joan Faggianelli, kitesurfing champion Gisela Pulido and popular YouTubers St3pny and TheKing77 have lent their talents to the project. Each have designed their very own SuperCharged car, either a Hot Streak or Crypt Crusher – two vehicles from the latest Skylanders game, Skylanders™ SuperChargers, in which vehicles are brought to life for the first time. The designs have been sprayed onto models of the cars for superfans to bid on and raise money for Make-A-Wish.

Jon Stettner, president and CEO, Make-A-Wish International, added: “On behalf of my colleagues across Europe, I would like to thank Activision, and all the famous faces involved in the project, for this fantastic collaboration. We are thrilled with the unique vehicles that have been specially designed and the money raised will help us in our ongoing efforts to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.”

Former ‘Stig’ from Top Gear, Ben Collins: “As soon as I heard about this Skylanders activity I had to take part. Being a huge fan of racing and cars, I think Skylanders SuperChargers is really cool and I’m enjoying playing the game!  It’s a great idea to raise money for a highly deserving cause, like Make-A-Wish®, and getting to customise my own SuperChargers car was awesome.”

Home You Go is a classic game and now Rocket Toys and Games have given the board game a new facelift to a more modern look but the game strategy stays the same.

This is a simple and fun family game to be played with two or four players. It is suitable for ages six onwards. To win the game, you have to be the first player to get all 5 playing pieces over to the opposite side of the board!

Countdown Review

I’m sure many of you will know Countdown which is one of the longest-running and most iconic quiz shows on British television. I still remember when I started watching it in 2004 when Richard Whiteley and Carol Voderman were still presenting. Nevertheless, this show is now one of my son’s favourite programmes after they were encourage to watch it at home by school.

Seagull Splat Review

Last week, I came across this hilarious children’s game Seagull Splat at the Toy Fair 2016 and I know this is going to be a big hit in our house. Who would have thought of having seagull poo their way to victory! This game came out last year and has already proved to be a popular game for children.

PLYT Game Review

When I first came across PLYT Game, I had little clue as to how addictive and challenging this numeracy game would be. This is suitable for ages 4 and above and for 2 to 6 players. It is easy to play (when you set up all the rules), fun and competitive for all the family and it allows players of different ages and abilities to compete against each other with everyone being challenged. This game is a great game for everyone.
