Baking Mad has sent me some baking products to do a cake challenge with my children. As many of you will know, Silver Spoon is well known for their range of quality sugar. Over the years they have also launched some truly innovative low calorie and home baking products.
Using the ingredients given to us, we have created this cake using marzipan, green designer icing, green coloured icing and coloured chocolate beans. This is how we did it: I’m not going to go into the details of how to make a sponge cake as this review is more about the decoration. It is quite simple to make or if you prefer other cake ideas, click here.

Fresh Gourmet is the biggest provider of salad toppings, especially croutons, in the US and have brought their delicious products exclusively to UK Tesco stores to inspire us Brits to become more creative with our salads. The range includes three crunchy croutons flavours – Cheese and Garlic, Basil Pesto and Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper – along with Crispy Onions and is ideal for people who like a salad in the summer but need that added texture to jazz up the dish. This post is an entry for BritMums ‘What’s for Dinner Tonight?’ sponsored by Schwartz. I love finding ways to cook an easy and healthy meal for my family. Life is so busy with two children and a blog to write. I never have time to cook from scratch so I mainly rely on ready made cooking sauces. I have not tried Schwartz products before but I had followed them on twitter @SchwartzCooking for new product and recipe ideas. Look out for their weekly Tuesday Twitter competition to win a seasonal #Schwartz goodie bag. I was given a packet of Mediterranean Chicken Pasta and Cheesy Crumb Topping and a packet of Garlic & Thyme Roast Chicken + Crispy Roast Potatoes to show you how easily it can be done. As a family meal, we aim to eat a healthy meal with at least two portions of fish a week. To accompany the fish, I always use oven chips at the same time. We only stock McCain’s chips as they have always been our favourite chips. I love McCain’s French Fries as it is very crispy and crunchy. While Mr C prefers the texture of McCain’s Crinkle Cut chips. I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client. Both of my children school full time and each week I have to plan their meals. It is not easy to plan when you have two fussy eaters. We always go food shopping together and discuss what they like to eat for that week. I was so pleased to do this Flora challenge and discover that they have so many tasty and healthy ideas on their website. We had to pick a recipe from the website and the children decided to cook Chicken Tikka Wrap for their packed lunch box. After having such a gorgeous sunny day, we were all out the house washing the car, tidying the garden and we went for a bike ride. To prepare a quick and easy meal, I cooked my children’s favourite meal – noodle soup. It only takes me 5 minutes to prepare and 5 minutes to cook. Have you heard about a chocolate containing probiotic? I had not until I found Ohso probiotic chocolate through Twitter. It is the probiotic that interest me in their chocolate. So I asked the lovely company to send me some for reviewing. Celebrate the Mexican festival Cinco de Mayo (the 5th of May 2013) with Discovery Food! Cinco de Mayo is a colourful carnival marked in Mexico with singing, dancing, fireworks and fantastic food. I am so excited that I was picked to review Discovery Foods: a Perfect Fajita Kit, the *new* garlic and herb sour cream and a Fajita Cooking Sauce. This is my entry for the BritMums/Special K – How I’ve Changed Linky Challenge Thirty years ago, I was just a toddler playing with Barbie dolls. I always dreamed of being a Cinderella, finding a prince to marry and happily ever after. I always set myself a goal that I must find a boyfriend and be married by the age of 25. Kids would then follow and I would then be a housewife like my mum to look after my children and raise them well. Soon, I passed my adolescence and studied nursing. After working for a year and a half, I came to UK to work in Charing Cross Hospital. I came to UK alone and hoped to find new friendship. I think my fairy godmother answered my call. A young company determined to revolutionise the ready meal category, SCRATCH provides a range of easy to follow recipes, designed by Michel Roux Snr., along with the freshly prepared ingredients. The range of meal kits includes a Singaporean Crayfish Laksa, Thai Green Curry, King Prawn and Chorizo Paella, Makhani Chicken Tikka Masala and the vegetarian, Tagliatelle Pistachio Pesto. Each meal kit takes the same amount of time to prepare as a standard ready meal and allows the individual consumer to cook, without wasting money on superfluous ingredients. I was very eager to try the Laksa as it is one of my favourite Singaporean foods. I cook Laksa every few weeks at home or whenever I have friends come over to visit so I was eager to find out whether the Scratch meal is up to my standard. Lovely Walkers, the nation’s favourite crisp brand, has launched a fun and tasty new snack, Walkers Hoops and Crosses the playful X and O shape crisps! If you have a piece of paper, you might like to play a game against a friend, like how I played with Mr C. The X and O add a fun dimension to eating your snack. I was so excited when a lovely PR company sent me 4 packets of Walkers TigerNuts Peanuts for review. It was a new product launched by Walkers Snack Foods this April 2013. What made Walkers TigerNuts Peanuts different from the rest of brand peanuts? Each peanut is covered with a distinctive tiger-patterned shell. This is unique to Walkers. I am a big fan of Japanese food and have been to Japan three times in total for holidays. I am not a stranger to Japanese rice crackers at all. I use to eat regularly when I lived in Singapore. When I came to England in 2002 to work, it was not easy to buy Japanese rice crackers in your local supermarkets and I was only able to find them in the supermarkets in Chinatown. When I first came to England in 2002, my English ex-colleague introduced me to Walkers crisp and I never looked back. It is one of the best crisps I had since I was young. It’s a scrumptiously thin crispy crisp. It makes my mouth water whenever I see someone eating it. Every crisp is always so well-seasoned and tasty.Make a Chinese meal with Fresh Gourmet
