Discovery Food Garlic & Herb Soured Cream

29 April 2013 by Eileen

Celebrate the Mexican festival Cinco de Mayo (the 5th of May 2013) with Discovery Food! Cinco de Mayo is a colourful carnival marked in Mexico with singing, dancing, fireworks and fantastic food.  I am so excited that I was picked to review Discovery Foods: a Perfect Fajita Kit, the *new* garlic and herb sour cream and a Fajita Cooking Sauce.

Discovery Food Garlic & Herb Soured Cream

Inside the Perfect Fajita Kit, there are 8 flour tortillas, a packet of medium salsa and Fajita seasoning mix. To cook this Fajita, you need these following ingredients:

  • approx 500g Chicken breast (cut into strips)
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 green pepper & 1 red/yellow pepper (sliced)

I love how quick and easy it is to cook this by using their step-by-step instructions. Dinner was ready within 10 minutes. To warm the 8 tortillas, just pop it into the microwave for 45 seconds.

This is my children’s first time eating Mexican food and I had prepared for the worse. I had a children’s microwave meal in the fridge ready for them, just in case. I gave each child tortilla and put a spoonful of salsa and added the chicken fajita. Before we wrapped it up, I added the garlic and herb sour cream.

Surprisingly, both of them took to it well. It was not spicy for them and they both loved the taste!  A big thumbs up from both children. I rate this 5 stars out of 5.  Mr C and I totally loved it too. Scrumptious is the word. The chicken is flavoursome. The tortillas is soft and moist. The garlic and herb sour cream adds a depth to the fajitas and takes the taste to another level. It is awesome. I would highly recommend this and I would definitely buy it.

Disclosure: We were given these products by Discovery Foods to do this review and to enter a competition hosted by Britmums and Discovery Food.
