The Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat is a book written by Coral Rumble and illustrated by Charlotte Cooke. It will be released on 13th October 2013 and published by Parragon Book Service Ltd. It is a paperback containing about 24 pages. The font is big, simple and easy to read by young school children. Each page is beautifully illustrated with more pictures than words.
This book is about two curious children pretended to be an owl and pussycat. They are on a quirky adventure, based on the classic Edward Lear poem, The Owl and the Pussycat. I have not read the Edward Lear poem before but I do believe this is a much simpler version of the poem with a lot of fun added in. My son is learning to read and this is a great book to start him off as there are not many words in it. My daughter was very keen on the pictures and raised a couple of questions about the pirate and sea creatures! It is a great book to read at bedtime for their age as it is quite short and packed full of pictures. I rate this book 4 stars out of 5. It is an interesting book with rhymes.
