Beano Christmas at Southbank Centre

30 July 2013 by Eileen

Last Wednesday, I tagged along with Anna Marikar to Beano town at Southbank Centre to visit their Christmas Events. This is where they showcase the Christmas items for this coming December. One of the highlights for me was their latest bike! Doesn’t it look funky! These are the other things that caught my eyes for Christmas and I hope you all like what you see.

While we were there, they ran a free session to meet Kev the illustrator who was very friendly and enthusiastic in his work teaching the group of children about drawing. Mr K was fascinated and took away some useful tips.

This year they are celebrating 75 years of the country’s favourite comic. It is free and is located in the Festival Village, underneath the Queen Elizabeth Hall. It runs from 31 May – 8 September, and is open from 11 am – 7 pm. Inside the exhibition, they showcase their comic strips, audio visuals and their history. There is a café and shop to buy memorabilia. Follow them on Twitter https://twitter.com/BeanoComic

[…] First up is Anna Marikar, who blogs at In The Playroom. She is like a little sister and she always say that I am her crazy half sister. I knew her through my giveaways. She is always like a hawk for spotting competitions. She regularly tweets after midnight to avoid clogging up everyone’s Twitter feed (how considerate!) and of course, she did win a few of my giveaways. She is one of the first few bloggers that I met in the flesh and also Anthea Barton, blogs at Blue Bear Wood. We went to a few events like Mr Muscle, Monopoly Empire Unveil, Smurfs and Beano Christmas. Hello!

Welcome to ET Speaks From Home!

Hi, I’m Eileen — a mum of two teenagers, aged 18 and 17, and a passionate lifestyle blogger sharing snippets of family life, creativity, and culture since May 2012. My daughter lives with visual impairment, and our journey together has shaped much of the heart behind this blog.

Whether I’m creating festive crafts, exploring Chinese traditions, or trying out new recipes, I hope to inspire others through everyday moments from home.
