Last Wednesday, I tagged along with Anna Marikar to Beano town at Southbank Centre to visit their Christmas Events. This is where they showcase the Christmas items for this coming December. One of the highlights for me was their latest bike! Doesn’t it look funky! These are the other things that caught my eyes for Christmas and I hope you all like what you see.
While we were there, they ran a free session to meet Kev the illustrator who was very friendly and enthusiastic in his work teaching the group of children about drawing. Mr K was fascinated and took away some useful tips.
This year they are celebrating 75 years of the country’s favourite comic. It is free and is located in the Festival Village, underneath the Queen Elizabeth Hall. It runs from 31 May – 8 September, and is open from 11 am – 7 pm. Inside the exhibition, they showcase their comic strips, audio visuals and their history. There is a café and shop to buy memorabilia. Follow them on Twitter https://twitter.com/BeanoComic
Disclosure: We were invited to attend this event for the purposes of writing this blog post, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
