Christmas Gifts for Mum 2014

I have always been a big fan of the colour red! Just like my blog, I love to display red wording or colour on my photos. Also, I happen to have three red coats! Some people might think that I never change coats! Anyway, earlier this year, I came across Red Candy. They sell a range of RED coloured funky household items! They have an amazing range of choices. If you are considering changing the colour scheme in your house to red, you should have a look at their site.

They have compiled a gift list which is great for mums like me who love red and love their kitchen items. They have:

Malcolm & Gerald Personalised Clothing Boutique

Recently, I was put in touch with the lovely lady from Malcolm & Gerald (M&G). They have recently launched their online kid’s personalised clothing boutique. It was named after Malcolm the monkey and Gerald the giraffe, the beloved companions of Alex (aged 6) and Charlie (aged 2). They (the boys not the toys!) were the inspiration for the M&G clothing line. Their boys liked nothing more than clothes and accessories with their names on. Everyone who saw their boys wearing the M&G designs seemed to love them too. That is why they started the line to design more outfits for children that incorporate their names.

I ordered the clothing and they arrived very quickly. When I opened it up, they were packaged in a nicely wrapped cardboard tube with their logo printed on the tub. I love the idea of clothing coming in a tube as it gift-ready and saves you from wrapping it!

Propel Flying Start

Last week, I was fortunate to be in London for my son’s video shoot that I could also squeeze in the chance to attend the Propel event at the RAF museum. My husband and son would definitely have loved to attend too but due to my son’s shooting, they both had to stay put while Ms C and I went.

It was a lovely event! Propel hosted it at the RAF museum which was a fantastic location to display and demo their Propel models. We were so excited when we saw so many different types of remote control helicopters. They have taken the US by storm and have now come to the UK.

Dora is going for an underwater adventure with your little one! This gorgeous Fisher-Price mermaid Dora can dive off the side of the tub, into the water and once she is in the water, she turns on her back and swims! Push her fin against the tub wall and Dora will kick off the wall and start swimming!

Smiggle Open Birmingham Bullring

Last week, Smiggle opened in Birmingham Bullring and I was invited to see the showcase of their Christmas range. I have to be honest and say that I had not heard of Smiggle until two months ago and even while I was in Singapore for holiday.

Chicken Charades Review

Chicken Charades is a fast-paced game but this come with a twist! You have to use the rubber chicken to describe your word in 10 seconds. It was a big hit when we played it last weekend! Now my in-laws asked us to bring it along to the Christmas gathering to play! They all loved it. It was fun and quick! How I wish I had captured their actions on video! It was hilarious!

Argos Wishlist App Review

Argos have launched an app for children called My Christmas Wishlist. The app is aimed at children aged between 3 to 7 years old and is available for iOS and Android devices. It is an app to allow young children to choose the toys they want for Christmas and send it to Santa (aka mummy or daddy’s inbox).

After downloading the app, parents should register their email address in order to get the wish list from their children. You can also adjust how many toys the children can choose within a certain price range. I didn’t set this and let my children add as many toys as they wanted. What a big mistake! I had to go back, adjust it and get them to reselect.

In this Argos Wishlist app, there are five little cute helpers: Mo, Squidge, Fly, Gil and Stik. Once you have selected the helpers, it will ask you to take a selfie and add your name. You can have one profile for each child. Once your photo is taken, you can simply create your own wish list. It is divided into a number of categories: LEGO, Skylanders, Disney Infinity, Minecraft, Furby, Bear, Bicycle and many more. They are the best of the best toys for Christmas 2014.

Natural wood versus smartwatch. Natural wood wins! Not long ago, we came across JORD who are a wooden watches company and we fell in love with the notion of a timepiece that uses natural materials. Their watches look very unique and has proved to be quite the talking point.
