Being a parent for almost seven years, I have often found brown patches on the bathmat after someone earlier was getting changed while sitting there. Each time, I have to name and shame one of my children and keep telling them how to clean themselves after going to the toilet.

In fact according to Andrex®, 34% of parents rate teaching their children how to be clean after going to the toilet as the most difficult parenting task, beating teaching them to brush teeth (15%), holding cutlery (5%) and blowing their nose (3%). So I am not the only one facing the same problem. Therefore Andrex® wants to start a conversation around what being clean really means and demonstrate that how we clean and care for our intimate areas can make a huge difference, not only to our physical wellbeing but to how good and confident we really feel. It’s done this by creating the Andrex® Clean Routine and this is the guide.

Time passes so quickly – I can’t believe both of my children are now in Primary school. I can still vividly remember how tiny and soft their skin were when they were newborns. I chose to be a SAHM the moment my son, Mr K was born as I wanted to treasure every moment with him. I am so glad that I made the right choice to sacrifice my career so that I can experience each of their milestones.

Mr K was not an easy baby as he had reflux. He often cried for hours and hours after his milk and then he would puke on himself, us and everywhere around the house. Our washing machine never had a days rest as we had to wash his baby sick-stained clothing, bed sheets and ours too! Madness always starts early in this household. Ms C (5 years old) is learning the art of the lie-in but Mr K (6 years old) is a consistent early riser. The time for myself is normally during school hours and after they sleep.

My usual routine is to finish the housework and prepare and cook lunch/dinner while listening to Chinese music from my favourite Singaporean radio station via an app on my iPad. Once finished, I can relax and will often chat on Facebook and Twitter. It can be random people from Twitter or my friends from Facebook for any gossip or news from England or back in Singapore.

The days of having an indulgent long bath with wine and scented candles are long gone since parenthood. Now using a fragrance diffuser plus a quick shower is my next best thing. I love to have diffusers around the house as it give continuous aromas around the house. I always have different fragrances in each room. I think it helps to give a different theme to each room and it will also ensure I won’t get immune to the scents.
