Flower Toy Box & Desk

17 September 2014 by Eileen

Love a toy box for storing all sorts of junk and love a desk for playing or learning? Kidsplaykit sells this ingeniously designed flower toy box and desk serves both these purposes. It is a desk and a play table, making it perfect for those with limited storage space just like us! In addition to this gorgeous pink flower toy box theme, they also have a dinosaur and race track themes which is more suitable for the boy’s room.

Flower Toy Box and Desk review

It comes flat packed by courier. I took approximately 20 minutes to assemble the whole unit and only requires a screwdriver. The only challenge is to get the hinges onto the back panel with the lids. There are four hinges to screw on and two white housing.

The whole unit measures 80cm length x 60cm width x 50cm height. The lid/table top comes in maple MDF while the rest of the unit is made from white melamine MDF. It is light enough to easily carry using the built in carry handles by one person. Mr C managed to drag the whole unit up to Ms C’s room and now it sits beautifully next to her shelves.

I love the safety feature of the built in hinge which means the lid does not drop and fall. Such a clever idea! Once the lid is open, there is plenty of room for storage. We are able to fit in a few large playsets and houses! At the moment, this is going to be a toy storage and a play table for Ms C. When she gets a bit older, we will place a few trays into the box to store stationery to use it as a learning desk. Kidsplaykit do sell matching chairs which are available to buy separately which tucks neatly under the desk. At the moment, we are using an Ikea chair for demonstration in the video to give you a sense of the gap from the floor to the table.

I love this toy box and desk as it is functional, comes with great storage and a hinge stay feature. It will definitely make any girl’s room look very pretty with its flowers printed on the front panel. It is slightly expensive at £82 but offers a lot at that price so is good value for money.

That’s lovely and great that it doubles up as 2 things!

That is a great idea and I love the size of it. We struggle for space so something like this would be perfect!
