OXO SteeL POP containers Review

8 June 2014 by Eileen

Searching for a stylish, contemporary edge for kitchen storage?  These OXO Good Grips SteeL POP containers are what you need!  They are exclusive to John Lewis! So if you like it, click the link to buy it directly from them.  There are seven versatile sizes (0.9L, 1.4L square, 1.4L rectangle, 2L, 2.3L, 2.4L and 3.8L) containers available.  Prices start from £14 for the 0.9L.

Each container features a brushed stainless steel lid and a unique push button mechanism that creates an airtight seal with just one touch.  The button can be easily operated with one hand, perfect for when you’re juggling several things at the same time, and also serves as a handle when lifting off the lid.  Even both of my children are able to do it.  But today’s experience proves I can’t trust them to use the container by themselves yet.  After it was opened, my daughter tried pouring the Sugar Puffs into her bowl.  Catastrophe!  All the sugar puffs spilled over and onto the floor.  I am regretting listening to my husband to put the Sugar Puff into this container.  I would suggest putting bigger items like pasta or biscuits in these taller containers.  If you store rice or beans etc., the opening of the container allow you to leave a cup or scoop inside there for easy measuring.

If you need to wash the lid and container, it is recommended to hand wash.  As for the lid, you can twist the bottom section off and give it a good clean.

The body of the container comes with smooth rounded corners which allow for easy pouring.  The transparent body makes it easy to see what is inside and it can be neatly stacked on top or next to each other in cupboards to maximise storage space.  I have left them on the kitchen worktop as they look very stylish along with other kitchen gadgets.  Its body is made from a good quality hard plastic but be careful not to drop it or hit it hard as it will crack.

I would recommend them as they are not just stylish in any kitchen, the one hand push button mechanism has impressed me.  It is so easy to click and open the lid.

These look great but I did have to laugh at your sugar puffs disaster – I can just imagine your face!!

The design is very good. I think as they would look nice left out rather than hidden away in a cupboard, I would choose other items from cereal
