Do you have any upcoming events to celebrate? How do you normally choose and send your gift? There are so many ways of sending your love to your loved one. It can be a present, a phone call or even a balloon in a box. Not heard of a balloon in a box? Me too! This is quite an unusual way of sending a gift!
Christmas Gift Ideas
This year we have been very busy testing out toys, clothing, gadgets and food. We have also been to the Argos Christmas event in July and played the PS4, Skylanders Swap Force and Disney infinity. At the same time, we also went to attend a short session with Beano Christmas. Last month, I went to attend the Argos Top Technology predications for Christmas! What an interesting year! So this is my round up for this year and hope you will find it useful.
Toys for Boy:
Recently, we had tried out the new Skylanders Swap Force, the game has a lot of variety with the many Swap Force character combinations you can make and the game itself is fun, challenging and very enjoyable.
National Geographic Kids Magazine Review
Mr K is at the age of being inquisitive about the workings of the world and wants to learn more about nature and wildlife. Yesterday, we went to Paradise Wild Park and he got so excited to meet the meerkats and have breakfast with the tigers!

Inside this magazine, there are over 60 pages of interesting facts, pictures and information about the latest news about wildlife, games and puzzles. They also come with a poster, toy and fact cards in this November issue. Every issue will have different items in it.
Tom Pellereau Invented Stylfile Nipper Clipper
It is always so daunting to cut babies nails! I still remember cutting Mr K’s nails was like a military operation. One person would distract him while the other would cut his nails. I recall our health visitor suggested us to bite them off or just leave it for a bit longer before we peel them off because they’re thin and soft when they are babies. As a first time parent, we didn’t dare to even cut them nor bite them. It was always so hard. We even exchanged tips on how to cut baby nails when we met with our friends with babies. Some of them would just file them off and some would just wait until the baby’s nails were far too long before they used a nail clipper.
TinyMe Personalised Items Review
A few weeks ago, I was invited to attend a dinner event with TinyMe. Before that, I had not heard of them before nor used their products. It was great that I was able to see their beautiful personalised products. It was really enjoyable night and it was great to meet some fellow bloggers. We were each given a voucher to spend on their website.
STABILO Early Writers Packs
Both of my children have started their Reception and Year 1. As a parent, I feel that it is very important that both children are able to develop their fine motor skills by getting them the right stationery to assist their writing. I am always very worried for Ms C as she grips her pens and pencils in an unusual way. She is unable to hold a pen like a tripod. In fact, she is gripping the pencil in between her middle finger and ring finger. It does look very odd.
Walking in Comfort with Hotter Shoe
Shoes plays such an important part in our lives. We walk in them, jump in them, they protect our feet, keep us warm and cosy. Picking the right shoe is like picking the right partner – the right pair of shoes will keep you happy and comfy for a long time.
I always have a hard time finding the right type of shoe as I have a wide flat feet. My husband Mr C always call my feet flippers. There are not many wide fit styles to be found in store or online. So I am glad that Hotter Shoe company found me instead and they do have extra wide shoes.
Harmful Bacteria found in Washed Clothes
In this video, Dr. Pixie McKenna gives her top tips for ensuring laundry is clean and bacteria free. I was not aware that when doing a wash at low temperatures, bacteria remains in the washed clothes. This is very scary research. We are always reminded by social media to wash clothing at low temperatures to save the environment and reduce your electricity bill. Of course, washing at lower temperatures will also preserve the longevity of clothes, especially coloured clothing. But to think that bacteria linked to faeces is on 1 in 4 items of children’s washed clothes is very alarming!
Digital Ozeri Precision II
Having owned a set of old fashioned analogue bathroom scales for a long time, it is a big step up for us to move to the digital world of bathroom scales! Having digital scales can make taking the reading easier. I still remember the days of having to crouch down and squint to try and take the reading. There is always good points and bad points about having a precise reading. Take my husband for example, he weighed x amount and he could not believe that he had put on weight. He insisted that he had a lot of added weight on, because it was a cold – he wore a coat, scarf and had his phone in his pocket. So he undressed himself and weighed again. He was instantly pleased that he lost 1.5 kg just from clothing and phone! So if you are as fussy as him, perhaps you should get yourself a digital scales!
Truprint Canvas Review
Truprint offers services for printing photos, but it’s not just photo paper as you can also have printed cards, photo mugs, posters, calendars and many more. They have kindly offered me two canvases to review. Truprint offers various sizes of Photo Canvas of Single Image Canvas, Collage Canvas, Split Photo Canvas, Multiple Canvas Prints and Premium Canvas. I went for the biggest size to suit our conservatory wall, rectangular 24 x 20 inch with photo wrapping around edges. The canvas in-between both Truprint canvases of my children is not part of the review.
Nano-b Anti-Bacterial toothbrush
Recently, I mentioned about my teeth and gum problem. My teeth is quite stained from not looking after them properly since young. So I have been using whitening toothpaste. Also about a month ago, I took up a toothbrush challenge where I was sent a years supply of toothbrushes (1 toothbrush per 3 months) to blog about my reviews. This is my review so far after the first month and I will update again in two months time and then also after a year.
Love your gums
Since young, I have never wanted to look after my teeth and gums even though I had plenty of oral hygiene talks from school. The reason is I always bleed when I brush my teeth so am scared of brushing them. My gums have always look darker red than normal. I have never dealt with this problem until I went on a volunteer overseas trip to Thailand. We had raised funds in Singapore and bought over a few hundred toothbrushes and toothpastes for two schools in Thailand. While we were in Thailand, we taught the children how to brush their teeth and why we should look after our teeth. It was only then, I realised that I should not have avoided my gum problem and should deal with it.

Halloween Glow in the Dark Trick or Treat Bag!
This coming Halloween, do you have any plans for your children? Anyone having a party? Each year, my children and I will go to our village hall to celebrate. There is usually a best pumpkin carving competition, a ghost walk around the village, tarot card reading, apple bobbing, smack the rat etc. I didn’t celebrate Halloween until I had my two little monsters! I really enjoy getting into the spirit of the celebration with my children and they do too. Over the years I have bought them plastic buckets to go trick or treating. This year YourDesign.co.uk offered to send me a personalised Trick or Treat bag for review!
