EKO Morandi Sensor Bin 12L Review

4 August 2020 by Eileen Leave a Comment

With this Covid-19 pandemic, many people are working from home and it is important to invest in a good bin that seals the rubbish away from you especially if it is next to you! When you shop for a new bin, it can be a shock how much of an investment it can be. But think about it, you are probably going to use it more than anything else you have bought!

Eko Morandi Sensor Bin 12L review

With this hands-free EKO Morandi sensor bin, not only does it looks smart in the room, but it also uses a motion sensor! With a 12 litre capacity, this trendy graphite bin is a good choice for small rooms like offices, toilet, under cupboard sinks or smaller rooms in the house. It comes in four modern colours: matte white, steel blue, soft pink and graphite.

The matt finish on the bin is just a great way to hide away dirt or fingerprint marks! There are two options to operate the lid. You can either wave over the sensor (20cm directly above the sensor) or lightly touch the open button. For hands-free motion, the lid will close in five seconds with a countdown light. If you require the lid to stay open for a long time, you can press the button to either open or close.

The battery-powered top does need four AAA batteries to operate. It is best to get good quality batteries in order for the bin to operate properly and for longer. According to the instructions, it mentions the batteries should last between three to six months with use up to 20 times a day. There is also an on/off button on the back of the lid.

I love how quiet the lid closes with its soft close and the lid has a silicone seal to trap in odours. The bin is designed with an inner rim to keep bin liners neat and tidy at all times. There are three bin sample liners provided in it. It does come with a silicone handle to carry around the house.
