Kinfo App Review

21 June 2017 by Eileen

Kinfo is a completely free app with no sponsors or adverts. Currently only available on the App Store, (although an Android version is in the works), Kinfo helps parents find and share their tried and tested recommendations for children’s activities. These activities can include crafts, recipes, games, toys, books, films, travel destinations, days out, attractions, classes, parties, restaurants, cafes, products and many more.

Kinfo has been developed by a group of parents led by Isabelle, a London-based mum of 3 boys. She wanted to find a way for parents to share recommendations about kids’ activities anywhere, anytime, based on what their children actually enjoyed. Unlike other apps, there are no sponsored suggestions and it’s also not a listings app.

When you download Kinfo, simply register using your name, set a password, email address and select how many children you have. Once you are registered, you can search for things to do by names, or location, or add recommendations. I accidentally came across a Candy Making Masterclass which I never knew existed! Ever since I watched Bake Off Crème de la Crème, I have always wanted to learn sugar work. Through this app, I managed to discover something new to learn. This is definitely going to be on my to-do list with children.

  • recommend outdoor activities that you and your children have enjoyed
  • recommend books, magazine, movie, videos, toys and crafts
  • search for things to do with the family all over the UK and abroad
  • give a ‘like’ for recommendations
  • add friends or follow parents whose recommendations you like

Adding your recommendation is very straightforward too. I typed in the location and it was able to find the place quickly with a photo. Then all you need is to say why you recommend the place. It is that simple!
