Last weekend, we very lucky to get invited to Actimel for kids launch event at L’atelier des Chefs cookery school in Central London. We set off quite early in the morning and caught the train.
Actimel have launched a new delicious recipe with fun bottle for children. It available in three flavours: strawberry, raspberry and vanilla. They are great as a tasty accompaniment to breakfast, lunch box or as part of an after-school snack. It comes in a convenient 100g bottle that is packed with yummy yogurt, billions of L.casei live cultures, fruit puree and essential nutrients such as calcium and vitamin D. It is also free from artificial flavours, colours and preservatives and is set to be a firm favourite with mums and kids alike.
We are a big fans of Coca-Cola in our household and our fridge will always have at least a few cans of Diet Coke. Not only that! A few months ago, I even recycled the plastic bottles to make Coca-Cola fairy lights.
Last month, they asked if we would like to try out their new product Coca-Cola Life before it is available in stores in September. Needless to say I was so excited!
Recently, I went to attend Britmums live 2014 and was very pleased to meet the representative of A2 milk. Not only did I broaden my knowledge about blogging, I also learnt that there are different types of proteins in milk including ones called A1 and A2. Regular dairy cows produce milk that contains both the A1 and A2 proteins. I never knew!
Last February, we went to Scotland and I came across a Chinese restaurants selling Flowering Tea / Flora Tea. I wondered whether this was for decoration or whether it was a real tea. I am not usually the most adventurous person when it comes to these things but this flower tea was really attractive so I ordered one. I had Flower Lover which is made up of green tea, chrysanthemum, globe amaranth and jasmine.
When the waitress presented me a huge wine glass with a ball, I was shocked. I asked for flowering tea and I get a ball in a wine glass full of hot water. So I decided to poke it with a chopstick then decided I better let it brew. It took about 5 minutes to bloom to a full flower. After the flower had bloomed, it was gorgeous! The flavour was nice and the aroma was gorgeous.
We have been waiting for this day for a very long time and finally this year, we managed to attend it! The Singapore Day celebrations tours different countries each year and we missed the last one in the UK a few years back.
We all travelled down by train early on Saturday morning and arrived at Victoria Park way with plenty of time to spare. When we got there, the queue was already massive. Luckily, we had our children with us and we are allowed to use the priority line. We had to pass through a few security checks before we could go in and then had to wait again! If you have a look at Singapore Day Facebook page’s photo, you will spot us rushing off the moment they opened its doors!
This is our first time attending this event and we thought we had to pay for all the food and drink. To our surprise and delight, it was all FREE! Yes, free food, drink, goody bag, freebies, live music and many more!
The first thing we went for was the food stalls. There were already massive queues over the Hawker centre stalls and so the volunteers asked everyone to head toward the Kopitiam stalls. To be honest, next time, I should just head off to the foods I like the most and not queue at the shortest queues. I was very disappointed that I didn’t get the chance to try out my favourite foods like: Laska, Indian Rojak, Stingray, Chilli Crab and many more. We did tried out some delicious foods like BBQ Chicken Wings, Chwee Kueh, Chicken Rice, Satay and Soup Kambing.
