The Kid Who Would Be King

The Kid Who Would Be King is a 2019 fantasy adventure movie, written and directed by Joe Cornish and distributed by 20th Century Fox. To celebrate the theatrical release of this movie, we were gifted a backpack, hoodie and a handmade Excalibur sword piñata which was filled with lots of chocolates! We were all super-excited!

Capturing the Universe Book Review

Capturing the Universe is written by Dr Rhodri Evans and will be available to buy from 7th February 2019 onwards. This book is a fantastic collection of the most spectacular images of galaxies, star clouds and the wonders of our solar system. There are over 200 breathtaking photographs taken by new generation orbiting telescopes, earthbound observatories and probes, including images from NASA and the European Southern Observatory. These pictures are not only mesmerising but also provide a huge amount of information about the geology and atmospheres of celestial bodies, and the formation of distant galaxies.

T.I.M.E Stories Game Review

T.I.M.E Stories is a narrative and co-operative game where players work as a team to protect humanity by preventing temporal faults and paradoxes from threatening the fabric of our universe. I find that this board game is very challenging and interesting. The game is set in the present time where players time travel using Tachyon Insertion to go into the bodies of beings from different worlds or realities to successfully complete the missions given to them.

Vincent van Gogh Book Review

Vincent van Gogh is one of the most well-known post-Impressionist artists, who was not truly appreciated in his lifetime, left one of the most startling artistic legacies of the late nineteenth century. I have been fascinated with his works ever since we visited the Van Gogh Museum during our trip to Amsterdam two years ago. This troubled genius’s “Portrait du Dr Gachet” painting sold for a record $82.5 million in 1990, 100 years after his death!

Introducing the new Wesco Loft Collection

This new year, if you are after the increasingly popular industrial-style theme, then look no further! The iconic housewares specialist Wesco has recently launched this exciting new collection “Loft” that give kitchen and bathroom accessories a matt-powder-coating finish to give a modern, edgy look.

Clean lines, simple forms and stark contrasts are a must for this minimalist look. The collection’s colour palette of black, white, cool grey and graphite captures this perfectly and add an industrial sharpness.

2019 Challenge with ADEXE Watch London

Time has passed so quickly and now we are welcoming 2019! This will be a very challenging year ahead as we are buying a new house soon and Mr K will be going to ‘big’ school in September. The year before, we made a big decision to sell our ‘forever home’ to move closer to Mr K’s big school as we wanted the best school for him. It was not an easy decision as it involved tying ourselves to a bigger/longer mortgage and moving away from our nearby friends.

eufy BodySense Smart Scale Review

These days we understand that there’s much more to being healthy than how much we weigh and to help us to get on track and more detailed health statistics, the eufy BodySense Smart Scale is the way to go. I know that smart scales with Bluetooth are not a new thing in the market, but what I love about this scale is how affordable it is and how smart it looks!

Yesterday, we were invited to watch an exclusive musical show – Emily Brown and the Thing at the Birmingham Hippodrome’s Patrick Studio. This musical show is based on the much-loved book by Cressida Cowell (author of How to Train your Dragon) and Neal Layton. This delightful family-friendly show is brought to you by Tall Stories theatre company and is the perfect treat for all the family until the 6th January 2019! Catch the show during this festive season before it transfers to New York and embarks on a North American tour in 2019.

Monopoly Fortnite Review

Last month, Monopoly Fortnite was revealed as one of the 12 ultimate toys of 2018 by the DreamToys organisation! This game is inspired by the popular Fortnite video game and now it is not about what players own; it is about how long they can survive in this Monopoly game! To win, you have to be the last man standing, just like the game!

Although this game is suitable for aged 13 and above, both of my children were super keen to play it! Mr K is a big Fortnite fan and he is loving this! This board game is suitable for two to seven players and it features well-known locations as properties, and players aim to earn Health Point chips instead of Monopoly money to stay in the game!

Heineken Champions Cup Wasps Vs Toulouse

Last Saturday, we were so lucky to get invited to watch the Wasps versus Toulouse game in the Heineken Champions Cup in Coventry. This was an important game for Wasps Rugby Football Club, especially as they hadn’t won in any of the Heineken Champions Cup games so far in this tournament and they were up against a strong French team in Toulouse who had won their games.
