Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) is a show from my childhood in the 1990s where a group of ninja turtles fight against the bad guys like Shredder to save the city. In this 2014 movie, they have all had a major makeover and they all look awesomely scary! I love that they have given the turtles more detail to their costumes and have rippling muscles. They still wear their bandannas, eat pizza and like to joke around.
Chocolate and Vanilla Marble Cake
I have never tried to bake a marble cake from scratch as it is often easier to use a pre-mix to bake with my children! We all love marble cake for its chocolate swirls in the cake! But there isn’t much choice of marble cake pre-mixes on the market.
Anyway, recently The Happy Egg Co have kindly sent me a signed copy of Eric Lanlard’s Totally Chocolate cookbook, which features all his favourite chocolate recipes! I was so excited when I saw this chocolate and vanilla marble cake recipe which also happened to be his first listed recipe. I was thrilled to make it from scratch!
The fabulous chef, Eric Lanlard also created Peanut Butter & Chocolate Egg Cups for the Happy Egg co which can be found on their website.
Drumond Park Rapidough Review
Rapidough is the original game of modelling charades that has recently been thoroughly refreshed to provide many hours of fun with family and friends! This is suitable for ages 8 onwards and for 4 or more players. The more the merrier. This is great to play during an adult party too!
Tuesday Tutorials 2015 Week 10
A huge welcome to Week 10 of the Tuesday Tutorials Pintorials Pin Party! Last week, I went to attend a craft event where I got to learn two simple crafts made from fabric and so this week I am going to feature fabric ideas.
Five Rainy Football Activities
My son is football mad! He is an outgoing boy who loves nothing more than sports. I find it quite exhausting trying to keep up with him. However the weather in the UK can be so gloomy and rainy so we have made up a few football activities to do for my football mad son that can be done indoors.
How to Build a Potato Powered Clock
This week, we been having fun learning through educational STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) focused activities at home. This powered clock is a science activity that is suitable for aged 5 and above. I do find it difficult to explain to my children but they did get the gist of it!
To make life easier, rather than looking around for all the bits to build, we had this Lemon Clock kit provided by Great Gizmos for our Twitter party. If you want to get this kit, you can get it online such as from Amazon. If you prefer to make your own, you would need black and red wires, copper and zinc plates, LCD clock and tape.
This kit is simple to build but it is best to allow older children or an adult to build it as the bits are quite fragile.
Blaze and the Monster Machines Post Twitter Party
Did you join us yesterday for Blaze and the Monster Machines Twitter party? We all had a lovely time with UKMumstv and Nick Jr on Twitter #NickJrBlaze. It was very manic as usual and I tweeted about my children’s creations!
Yesterday was the Blaze and the Monster Machines première and it was our first time watching it! My son totally loves it! It is definitely an animated cartoon he will watch again and again! It is about AJ, an 8 year old techie who drives monster-truck Blaze, the top racer in Axle City. Blaze is Axle City’s greatest hero and it’s number one racer! Blaze knows everything about science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Each episode introduces different STEM concepts, including buoyancy and trajectory which are the activities that we did together during the party.
After both children completed their maze, we made these two awesome Blaze Monster cars out of chocolate, Jelly Babies and Smarties! Don’t they look cool!

Interplay Racing Truck Review
Want to build your own American-style racing truck with electric motor without using glue or making a mess? Interplay have this brilliant Technokits Racing Truck that has it all! Chemist Direct Review
Online shopping is sometimes so much easier to do than to pop into the shop and find that the items you want are out of stock or the shop is closed! Nowadays, you can get almost anything online from groceries, clothing, electricals and even cars! An online pharmacy is one of those that I had not tried before.
The Adventures of the Cuddle Pirate
The Adventures of the Cuddle Pirate is a series of children’s books written by Kelly Elsworthy and beautifully illustrated by Becky Dench. It is about a healthy pirate & his crew who are out solving unhealthy mysteries but there is always someone out there trying to ruin all the healthy food!
In the story, the cuddle pirate has five crew members who are all named after healthy fruits or vegetables. They are Blueberry Beth, Broccoli Brad, Strawberry Sally, Milky Max and Tomato Tommy!
Scooby Doo Mystery Mansion Playset review
Scooby Doo and his friends always find themselves solving mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures through a series of antics and missteps. Now Scooby is going to investigate suspicious goings on in the Mystery Mansion. Beware as there are plenty of secret traps hidden in the mansion!
DIY Fabric Book Cover
In the workshop, we were taught two different crafts which were to make your own bespoke fabric notebook cover and a 3D bird. All the six different lovely fabrics were provided by Hillarys Blinds which are their latest design.
Equazen Eye Q Review
Equazen Eye Q is a health product for eyes that helps you to ensure you get your daily intake of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. These essential fatty acids play a vital role in almost every part of our bodies, including the brain. This is not our first time using Equazen Eye Q as we used to mix the children’s milk bottle with the Equazen Eye Q liquid when they were toddlers. We find that mixing it into their milk was so much easier than trying to get them to drink it. Since both of them are not drinking via their milk bottles any more, we stopped and forgot about it.
For me, having good eye sight is the most important sense as sight opens your eyes to the world. I used to wear glasses but after having a laser eye operation, I can almost see with perfect sight. It gave me my life back. Waking up, I am able to see clearly straight away and swim so much comfortably.
My 5 year old daughter has mild colour blindness and visual impairment. So naturally, we want to keep her eye sight as healthy as possible and provide her with any opportunities for her sight to get better. So we give her these Equazen Eye Q children’s chew to give her a balanced diet.
