Five Rainy Football Activities

9 March 2015 by Eileen

My son is football mad! He is an outgoing boy who loves nothing more than sports. I find it quite exhausting trying to keep up with him. However the weather in the UK can be so gloomy and rainy so we have made up a few football activities to do for my football mad son that can be done indoors.

Soccer Paper Plate Banner

Fancy a quiet craft to start with? Why not download this template for the Pentagon shapes (in World Cup 2014 Football Print Black or in World Cup 2014 Football Print White) to stick on the paper plate! This is a very easy craft that you can with a young child! Click here to read the instructions.

Ball Jugging

My son loves to try keepies uppies! Indoors, we give him this Beano Dennis the Menace Farting Football to play with. This quite a fun spongy soft football which won’t cause too much damage in the house. He and his sister loves playing with this ball as it makes a farting noise each time they hit the ball!

Bake Football Cupcakes

When I bake with my children, I often use pre-mix to save time and cleaning. I do not fancy cleaning if I make everything from scratch with children. They always make such a terrible mess! Get them to help you mix and swirl the mixture. After finishing baking, you could either give them an icing pen to draw a football or get them to make a football topper to place it on the cupcakes. To make a football topper, simple ask them to draw a football and stick it on with a toothpick.

Table Football

A football table has been always my son’s dream! I was delighted to get it for half price from House of Fraser’s children’s toy department. It took me around 20 minutes to construct it. It shouldn’t have taken that long but I didn’t realise that I put all the players facing the same direction! So I had to de-construct everything to put it right. This is a lightweight decent football table. Both my children love playing with it and so does my husband! Now during rainy days, they can play this instead of lazing around!

World Cup Trophy

Last but not least, every game will need a trophy for a reward. Why not click here to learn how to make your own World Cup trophy using DuckTape! Your children will be very excited making their own trophy and to write their favourite team on it!#

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

    Love the football trophy.

Once N’s room is decorated and sorted out, I’d like to get him a football table. Great fun for all the family, if a little competitive!
