Summer Activities A- Z: F

27 July 2014 by Eileen

F is fun! Don’t you think so? We had another brilliant day again. This time around, we had daddy joining in and having fun with us. So our summer activities today is the letter F!

Summer activities f

F for Fingerprint

Yesterday morning, I drew a fish and let both children use their fingers to create fingerprint fish. It is lot of fun doing it as they love getting messy. After they printed it all, I drew an eye to complete the picture. This is such a simple craft to do.

We also made a garden with lot of flowers, insects, bugs and butterfly!  Read our review here.

F for Fish Fingers and Chocolate Fingers

We had fish finger sandwiches for lunch which was inspired by the Come Round party we had recently. Then both children had one of their favourite snacks, chocolate fingers for pudding.

F for the Fish with the deep sea smile

At bedtime, we read the fish with the deep sea smile book to end the evening.

F for Float

Floating game is a great way for children to learn about density. We collected a couple of balls, coins and random plastic toys. Before they threw them into the swimming pool, I asked them to guess which one will float or sink. A few years ago, we did fruit bobbing as part of our pre-school science which is fun for the children. Do try them out.

F for Flower

We made a couple more bloom pops flowers using the kits.

F for Fun

As it was the weekend, Mr C was off work and we were fortunate to have great weather so that we could make further use of the new paddling pool. We had an epic water fight! Both children and I against daddy, each armed with a bucket! It was brilliant and we all had a lot of fun!

Today is the letter G. It will have to be grieve and grandma. Late last night, I had received a text that my Grandma had passed away. It was a shame that my children won’t get a chance to see her again when we go to Singapore. RIP Grandma.
