Sylvanian Families Campervan Review

27 July 2014 by Eileen 3 Comments

Sylvanian Families have been available for well over 20 years now and it is strong as ever. Ms C first saw Sylvanian Families while she was in a friend’s house and immediately fell in love with them. I can see why as each character and design of the buildings are carefully made and thought through with great attention to detail.

We first bought Ms C her first Sylvanian Families house three years ago around Christmas time and she has been playing with it ever since and it has lasted well. They are very durable with intricate details on the house. We are fortunate to receive the retro style turquoise campervan along with the adorable Chocolate Rabbit Family.

This adorable Chocolate Rabbit Family consists of the father – Frasier Chocolate, the mother – Teri Chocolate, their son – Coco Chocolate and their daughter – Freya Chocolate. Freya is a character that is regularly featured in the Sylvanian sets. They are made from flocked plastic. Each character is very well made with gorgeous plastic black eyes. They also have their own clothing which can be removed as they are attached with Velcro. Both limbs are moveable which enable them to sit or stand.

This retro style turquoise campervan with flower details is the perfect way to help your Sylvanians get to their adventures. Inside this box, it come with over 30 pieces including bedding, table, utensils etc. to give the Sylvanians a mini break away from home.

Right out of the box, there is not much to assembly with the campervan, apart from arranging all the kitchen accessories, sticking the stickers and making books. It also comes with a strawberry air freshener sticker. However, we found this peeled off within minutes of playing and was soon lost.

It comes with build in drawers for you to store the kitchen accessories with a stove and sink. It also comes with plenty of space on the roof for canoes or bikes which are not included in this set.

The only downside of this campervan is that it didn’t come with brakes. While Ms C was playing with the characters inside the campervan, the vehicle kept moving. So we had to place a wooden block to stop it from moving away. Both doors on the passenger sides are able to open but not the front driver’s door. There is room for the little adorable characters to move around and allows children to explore their imagination.

It is a fantastic campervan that all children would adore. It has been finished with a high level of detail from the van itself through to the accessories. Ms C loves it all. Now she is able to drive the campervan ‘to visit her friends’. They are available in Argos, Toys RUs, Amazon and all good toy shops.

Disclosure: We have received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
