It had been a long time since we last visited Beacon Park and I was amazed that there were so much of changes. There were more benches, a pirate ship and workable swing which was broken before. One negative note though, I felt that they could at least put a barrier around the pond. I was worried that babies/children might fall in there.
On this particular day, there were so many activities including Arts and Crafts, Outdoor Games, Sports, a Bear Hunt Trail, Inflatables, Food Stalls, Donkey Ride, Face Painting and more. Beacon Park was also offering free tennis on its four courts. Mr K and Ms C were learning to do some circus tricks and ribbon throwing.
We paid £2 for 5 minutes slide on the bouncing castle. They even used a timer to make sure each child got the full 5 minutes! Mr K was having a great time and wanted to go for more.
Ms C preferred a slower merry-go-round as a bus driver. We paid £1.50 per child per ride. She was a very happy girl after that! In amongst all the fun, there were the Teddy Bear Games where children can bring their teddies and enter races including: The Teddy Sprint, Ted on the Head Race, Teddy Loop a hoop and Teddy Wanging.
I was very proud of Ms C as she managed to throw three hoops onto the big Teddy Bear and got sweeties as a reward. Shame that Mr K got no hoops and therefore no reward which I felt was a bit stingy. They should at least give him one for his effort. He was really sad and had to watch Ms C get her sweetie. Ms C was happy to share her sweet with Mr K though so maybe it was a useful lesson in sharing after all. We had a lot of fun today and will go back to Beacon Park soon.
