Active Gym used to be called Step Gym and had been around Lichfield for a very long time. I remember when I first took Mr K to his first session in 2008 and he absolutely loved it. Today, both of them ended up in tears as they refused to go home after the Summer Holiday Club session held at Lichfield Scouts Hall.
Firstly, they do warm up exercise to prevent injuries by loosening up joints and muscles. Then they follow the sequence of different exercise station like mini trampoline, walking across a beam, climbing the ladder and jumping from a height.
Both particularly loved the exercise bar where they can swing and flip over. They have been watching Olympic Gymnastics and Diving. I told him that he needs to practise his flip and swimming before he can do diving. Mr K wants to be a diver just like Tom Daley!
They also did Art and Craft like colouring, drawing point to point and crafting a magnet.
After that, each had a temporary tattoo put on them. Mr K is a big fan of tattoos. He had one tattoo on each arm. He was so proud of it and wanted to show it to his dad.
The children had an enjoyable day and it was only £6 for 1.5 hours per child. I highly recommended Active Gym to any parents! They are brilliant with children and help develop motor skills, balancing, learning to take turns, learning to interact with other children and adults. I rate this 5 out of 5 stars!
Have any of your children been inspired by the Olympians?
