Summer Activities A – Z: B

23 July 2014 by Eileen

We survived the first day of the holidays! We are now counting down for our family holiday to come! Working through the alphabet, we did letter A previously and yesterday, we did letter B. We had a lot of letter B activities!

B for Balance

We went to the park and saw this giant stand up see-saw. So each one stood on a side and tried to balance their weight.

B for Balloon

Mr K learnt how to blow up a balloon. Next, we filled it up with water and used it as a water bomb. The weather was so hot that playing with water bombs is such a great way to cool down! He also burst a couple balloons using his own hands.

B for Banana

Ms C ate a banana. Bananas are packed full of vitamins and minerals. They are also so convenient to take out whenever you are out and about.

B for Basil

I bought a pot of basil from the supermarket and I let Ms C smell the herbs. They are great for cooking and great for children to learn about herbs.

B for Beacon Park

Beacon park is our local park in Lichfield. It’s a great place for a picnic and there are always plenty of things to do there especially as the park has recently been upgraded.

B for Bike

Mr K is a confident biker and has been cycling without stabilisers for almost two years now. Ms C on the other hand still very much loves her stabiliser!

B for date of Birth

One of their school bucket list activities is to learn their date of birth! They know their own birth date but I had not yet taught them to write it. So this was a great excuse to get them writing and learning!

B for BN Biscuit

We are taking part in the 42 days of Summer linky challenge with Britmums and McVitie’s BN. Do look out for our review soon.

B for Bedtime Book

We read about Butterfly and the birthday surprise which we reviewed earlier this year. Ms C loves the characters in this book.

B for Bouncing Castle

I did spoil both children and let them play on the bouncing castle which cost me £2 for 5 minutes each at Beacon Park.

B for Bugs, Butterflies, Birds and Bees

Recently, we received two kits from interplay to rear butterflies and catch bugs. So now we are making full use of the kits. We have managed to catch a butterfly which we later released and have spotted many types of bugs. Also not forgetting Ms C playing with her pirate bird.

Look out for our letter C summer activities!
