My True Ghost Story – Venice Hotel

No matter how many stars a hotel is rated, it doesn’t mean they are ‘clean’. There could be natural deaths, murders or suicides in a hotel room. Some hotels are rumoured to be haunted. Have you stayed in such a hotel?

We Chinese have a special way of entering a hotel room. We have a list of rituals and superstitions to follow before we go into the room. Have a read of this post on Chinese superstitions when entering a hotel room.

Choosing Food And Drink For Your Wedding

The Heart And “Sole” Of Your Big Day: Choosing Food And Drink For Your Wedding!

The happiest days of your life can be, in many ways, one of the most stressful. In the lead up to your wedding day, you have so many things to keep track of, that the overall stress can wear you down. This is why it’s important to make it an enjoyable process, and if you are in heaven when the topic of food comes up, choosing the ideal food and drink for your wedding is one of the most pleasurable aspects of wedding planning. On one hand, tasting the food is enjoyable, but while you have to think about it purely relating to you and your partner, don’t forget you have other people to please too. So, with that in mind, how can you get the right balance to pick the right food and drink that pleases not just yourself, but everybody?

Chinese Superstitions to enter a Hotel Room

Chinese Superstitions to enter a Hotel Room! Last February, my mum and sister both flew to the UK to visit us. While they were here, we all went on a road trip to Scotland.  You can read more about our Scotland trip with Barny here.

We stayed at Premier Inn throughout our holiday at various locations.  The last location was Edinburgh, where we happened to have opposite rooms to my sister.  I noticed that my sister went through her hotel routine.  She knocked on the door and said we are just sharing the room with you for two nights, thank you.  This triggered memories for me when I was younger I was told that I must do this hotel routine and I had forgotten! Okay, not really. I never knock the door but each time I go into the hotel room, I will inform ‘them’ quietly that we will be sharing ‘their’ room. Mr C does not believe in these Chinese superstitions thing!  He thinks I am totally crazy to do this!

I had two separate unpleasant ghost experiences while staying in a hotel with him while we were in Italy and Japan. So he was used to me doing such crazy things while in a hotel room. I don’t practise these superstitions as much as I used to be because both of my children had started questioning my bizarre behaviour.

Paradise Wildlife Park: Snooze at the Zoo Review

This half term we were invited to a fantastic and rare opportunity to stay overnight at the animal park and experience the atmosphere and sounds of the wild as the sun goes down. Of course, if you like what you read below, you are able to book this experience with Paradise Wildlife Park. Snooze at the Zoo Experience also includes a sumptuous continental style breakfast in Tiger Treetops and a special hands on tour of the zoo.

Paradise Wildlife Park is a family-run animal park located in Broxbourne in Hertfordshire, England. It took us over 2 hours to drive there. They are situated 20 miles North of London, just off the A10 near to junction 25 of the M25. They do offer a minibus service from and to Broxbourne Train Station which costs you £1 or free for under 2 years if you don’t drive.

My favourite Disney Film

On 30th October 2012, it was announced that the The Walt Disney Company would acquire Lucasfilm. We were over the moon. We love to watch all Disney films and we are also a fan of Star Wars.  With these two combined, I have high expectations they will produce the greatest Disney film ever!
