Baby and Toddler Event

So what does Mr K want to be when he grows up?

He said he wants to be a diver like Tom Daley. He was inspired after watching Tom at the Olympic 10 m Individual Platform and Synchro Diving competitions. He has been practising jumping every day and he is pretty good at it!

This is his drawing of him diving.

Fruit Peacock & Hedgehog

Today, we made a play video to enter a competition by Make Time To Play. The rules are simple, we need to submit a play video to Make Time 2 Play to inspire other families with a good play idea. They will then put the videos out to public vote and announce the winner during Play Fest on Thursday 6th September 2012 at 9.50pm. Mr K made a Fruit Peacock and Ms C made a Fruit Hedgehog. We need these following ingredients:

Active Gym Summer Club – Lichfield Scouts Hall

Active Gym used to be called Step Gym and had been around Lichfield for a very long time.  I remember when I first took Mr K to his first session in 2008 and he absolutely loved it. Today, both of them ended up in tears as they refused to go home after the Summer Holiday Club session held at Lichfield Scouts Hall.

Firstly, they do warm up exercise to prevent injuries by loosening up joints and muscles.  Then they follow the sequence of different exercise station like mini trampoline, walking across a beam, climbing the ladder and jumping from a height.

Teddy Bear Picnic at Beacon Park

It had been a long time since we last visited Beacon Park and I was amazed that there were so much of changes. There were more benches, a pirate ship and workable swing which was broken before.  One negative note though, I felt that they could at least put a barrier around the pond. I was worried that babies/children might fall in there.

Mini Mambos By Mobile Leisure

We are into the 3rd week of school holidays and I almost ran out of ideas for things to do with the kids. Luckily, the Mobile Leisure Lichfield District organised a couple of activities for younger children like Mini Mambos, Cooking Session, Art & Craft and Fun sessions. We could have just arrived and paid but we decided to book in advance to avoid disappointment. It was £2.60 per child.

Animated Cake Pops Workshops at Lichfield Library

Another school holiday activity hosted by Staffordshire Library – Animated Cake Pops Workshop. It was a 2 hour class and cost £2 per child. We made 1 teddy bear topper, 1 teddy bear face and 1 tiger cake pop. Both of the kids had a lot of fun and they wanted to eat the melted chocolate before they even started decorating.

Firstly, we made a teddy bear using marzipan icing.  It was quite difficult for Ms C to do and I had to do most of it. Mr K was able to make it with a bit of my help.

5 Generations

I choose this photo dated 3 May 2008 for a couple of reasons being:

  • At that point of time, we had 5 generations. My great grandmum was still alive but not very well at the time.  Sadly, she passed away two years ago.

  • The above photo shows my grandmum, my mum and my son.  We were in Singapore visiting family and friends.  It was my son’s first time meeting his great grandmum and great great grandmum!

Meet Driver Dan’s Story Train at Westfield Derby

Today, we went to Westfield Derby to meet Driver Dan (Character from Cbeebies)!  After listening to two stories, we queued up to have a photo with Driver Dan! And we were given the photo with the frame for free! Mr K loved it a lot and insisted to put it by his bedside!

The Summer Reading Challenge 2012 Story Lab

Last Saturday, we signed up to the Staffordshire Libraries annual Summer Reading Challenge which just launched on that day.  It was for 4 – 12 year olds who are being encouraged to take part in the initiative and keep the boredom at bay during the school holidays.  The challenge is to read six books over the summer break and pick up rewards and incentives along the way.

My two babies passed their Swimming lesson!

It was Fun Swim today! Their last day of swimming with Supersharky Swimming pool before they break up for school. So proud of my two babies! Ms C got a Duckling Award Grade 3 and Mr K got a Water Skills Award Grade 1.  Well done to my babies!

    Future Formula 1 Driver

Today, we went to Little Aston Village Fete and found this Go Karting for children aged 4 – 9! Mr K is mad about driving!  He cannot wait to grow bigger to be able to practise driving! The circuit is air inflated and is made from PVC material. Each electric powered kart travels at between speeds of 1 – 6 MPH. It cost us £3 each ride and roughly about 3 minutes so it equates to £1 per min! Really expensive but worth it!  It really bought a big smile from him! Our future Formula 1 Driver!
