Vintage Chintz Cake Stand

26 June 2013 by Eileen Leave a Comment

What makes cakes stand out? That would be the stand of course! Seriously though, without them, they would be so plain and boring. I previously had a cheap plastic cake stand and whilst functional, it didn’t add to the experience. So I was on the hunt for a new cake stand. It was not easy to find something that would stand out and look good as the centrepiece of your table.

Vintage Chintz Cake Stand 3 tier

When I had a look at Out There Interiors website, who also stocks stunning vintage french furniture and gorgeous mirrored glass furniture, their vintage chintz cake stand immediately stood out for me. I love the vintage look! I was so glad to be able to review this.

It came in a very well packaged parcel within days of order. Each plate has a hole in the middle for the screws to thread through (complete with foam washers). It does not come with any instructions it is very straightforward to fix. The only tool you need is a cross-head screw driver to tighten the screw with metal washer at the bottom of the plate. Once fixed, it is very secure. Do be careful with the foam washers though as they can easily be misplaced.

This three tier cake stand comes with three plates and a gold coloured stand. Although the pattern on each plate is different, they all have a common flora print in the centre. The plates are approximately 15, 20 and 24 cm in diameter from the smallest to the largest plate. They are big enough to hold at least 10 cup cakes. As the plates are quite delicate, it is recommended they are hand washed.

I’m delighted with the cake stand and can’t wait to get it out to display on my dining table for a party or afternoon tea. They will go so well with my traditional tea cups! I rate this 5 stars out of 5 and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
