I first came across wild garlic when I won a vegetable box through a local food and vegetable business ten years ago. Since then, my husband is always looking out for it but it’s not something you find in your local supermarket.
Feng Shui: Keep Fake Flowers and Plants at a Minimum
I mentioned in an earlier post that my mum came to the UK to visit us. During her stay, she passed down a lot of feng shui tips and suggested I change several things. One of the suggestions was regarding fake flowers and plants. She said that if a house is filled with too many fake flowers and artificial plants, it will attract a lot of fake relationships, like friendships, and also gossip into our lives. I’m not sure where she heard it from. But she is quite an avid listener of feng shui podcasts and Buddhism YouTube channels. Each day, the channels will share tips and predictions for the zodiac animals.

Ways to Get Natural Lighting into your Home
Many homes in the UK were not built with natural light in mind, especially if you don’t have a south-facing garden or a big bright house. Most of us either live in a row of houses packed tightly together by the property developers or in a block or surrounded by a big block of flats. We can’t just pick up our house and turn it in the direction of the sun or relocate, especially as good properties go very quickly or are not within our financial reach. With that in mind, I have a few ways for you to get natural light into your home.

Making The First Impression of Your House
The first impression of your home can be absolutely vital if you are looking to sell. When we first put our house on the market, we were unable to attract as many viewers as we would have liked. After much thought and discussion, we decided to repaint our children’s bedrooms and declutter as much as we could to make the room look cleaner and brighter.
Many buyers will judge your home by the photos of the house either on property search websites or the estate agent’s brochure, and it can be very difficult to turn around a first impression! There is a lot to be said for a neat and appealing appearance to your home, whether it is a small change or something a little bigger. After we repainted their rooms, it made such a huge difference! We got more viewers to view the house and we were sold within two months.

Spring Sensory Activity: Clean Mud

Clean mud is also known as Ghost mud which is commonly used for sensory activity. It smells fantastic. How did it get its name? Well, I heard from friend that it originated from prison which I can understand why. In prison, the one things that they allow in their cell are soap, toilet paper and water! They must have been bored with time to kill and invented this clean mud to play in their cells! Clean mud feels like Play Doh but it is very wet and slippery!
Lavender Shortbread
Three years ago, we had a landscape gardener design our front and back garden which included rows of lavender. The small patch of grass we had in our front garden was filled with yellow, golden stones. This year, the lavender has really bloomed and fills the front garden with a nice sweet smell. I’m really pleased with it this year – they’re absolutely gorgeous!
