A trip to Cadbury World!

I love to shop at Tesco because of their Tesco clubcard rewards.  They help me to save a lot of money for activities. A few weeks ago, I exchanged £7.50 of vouchers for £30 Days Out Token.  I received the voucher within a week and it gave me 6 months to use before it expired.  There is free admission for under 4’s at Cadbury World.

One important pre-trip thing I almost forgot to do is phone ahead to book a time slot to ensure that they have tickets available. Luckily, my friend reminded me and I managed to book a 9.50 am slot.

According to my sat nav, it should take only 40 minutes to arrive. What the sat nav didn’t take into account is rush hour traffic! In the end it took us over an hour to get there and I was like an ant in a hot pot! The main car park was full when we got there and we had to park in the overflow car park.  We had not paid for our tickets yet and with the huge queue, to get in, I was already so stressed!

A Birthday Party at Ash End Farm

August is not just school holidays for us, it is also the busiest time for birthday parties. I have over 20 friends with birthdays in August! Luckily, we only had two parties to attend.

Today, we went to Ash End House Childrens Farm for I’s 2nd Nursery Rhyme birthday party. We all gathered at the outdoor play area for the meeting point. The weather was gorgeous and the children played happily. Once everyone turned up, the birthday guide who was a lovely young lady, led us to the goat building. She had a quick chat with the children about what to do and what not to do before they got to feed the hungry goats!  The children were so excited as they not only feed the animals, they also get to stroke them.

Reptiles, Mammals and You Show at Lichfield Library

Yet again another fantastic Summer holiday event organised by the Lichfield District libraries. Today we got to meet at least 10 different types of reptiles, mammals, and insects. The handler was there to explain the history behind the wiggly creatures, their unique way of protecting themselves and how to handle them etc. There was a lot of interaction and the kids were allowed to handle the creatures. Mr K was amused by all of them and he held every single reptile/mammal on show including the snail and cockroach. Ms C was not so keen to hold them. She was quite scared actually. At least she was brave enough to take a closer look at them!

Mini Tubing at SnowDome Tamworth

To be honest, I think it was crazy to go to such a cold place when the weather outside was so lovely and warm. We had booked a mini tubing at SnowDome Tamworth for both of my children and friends. It was a bargain as we only paid half price for both children. Under a tenner!

Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park

Both of my children are massive Peppa Pig fans and so we decided to book a weekend away to Peppa Pig World with four close friends and their kids. After a 3 hour drive to Paultons Park, both children were so tired that they fell asleep.  We were there around 9.30 am and half of the main car park was full! Packed with lots of eager children wearing Peppa Pig clothing and holding their favourite Peppa Pig toys waiting in the queue. The gate opened around 9.50 am and once we are in the park, we had to wait for another 10 minutes to get into the Peppa World.

Day out at Revenhill Park, Brereton

Today, we went out to Revenhill Park and had a brilliant time.  They have a children’s play area, seating and a large filtered paddling pool! At the back of the park, there is a free parking lot.  If you need any drinks or food, Co-op is just over the road or after 1 pm the parish hall have drink and food on sale.  Post office and cash machine are located next to Co-op too.  Be careful while you drive as there were a lot of speed cameras.

Nature Craft Family Day at Lichfield Pool Side

Hot, hot, hot! Unbelievable that the weather has just switched to Summer from all that rain!  The weather was so nice today that we even walked into the town. Mr K had his bicycle while Ms C was in her pram.  We went to the Nature Craft Family Day organised by the Lichfield District Council. It was for the children and parents to learn how to make a fish and bird feeder by using twigs, strings and all sorts of beads.  It was a brilliant idea!

Ms C was not too interested in crafts and didn’t manage to sit through.  She was more interested to feed the ducks at the pool than anything else. Mr K managed a bit longer but needed a lot of help from me.

These were the things what we made:

Mr K’s Leaving Do at Birches Valley Forest Centre

Today, yet again a wet wet day! We were definitely not dressed appropriately for the wet weather for his pre-school leaving do at Birches Valley Forest Centre. Mr K didn’t want to wear his wellies and he wore shorts!  It is summer but not summer weather.

A day trip to Legoland Windsor

Ready, get set, go!  The first thing you see as you walk to the park is the the world record breaking Lego tower that they had built between 3 – 8 July 2012.  It was amazing to see the result of hard work many people had put in to build this tower.

Drayton Manor Theme Park

After months of hassling from my son, we had finally save enough Tesco Clubcard points to purchase tickets. The park also has a Fun Day Friday – by wearing yellow, each ticket costs only £10.  Okay, so I had to force Ms C to wear a yellow shirt on top of her Peppa Pig dress. But she did wear it.

Pick Your Own (PYO) Fruits Farm

June is always associated with Wimbledon, Strawberries and of course Summer! It is the start of the fruit picking season and HAY FEVER! Last week, we went to Manor Farm Pick Your Own (PYO) at Tamworth and picked strawberries and gooseberries. As for the rest of the fruits like Blackberries, Blackcurrants, Redcurrants, Tayberries and Loganberries, these should be ready around end of June.
