Nutella Crunch

If you are a big Nutella fan, then you will love this recipe! This recipe only uses four ingredients which are butter, malt biscuits, Coco Pops and Nutella of course! These ingredients can be found in most kitchens, but if you could always substitute Coco Pops for Rice Krispies for example. When I offered to make this, both my children were super eager to help with this one!

Chocolate Dipped Almond Cookies

Almond cookies are one of my favourite cookies of all time. I love them especially during Chinese New Year time. I love it when they just melt in your mouth.

A few years ago, I used this almond cookies recipe which required lot of oil but they were delicious and did melt in your mouth. However, I thought I’d try this recipe this time.

Rosemary, Sea Salt & Sesame Popcorn

Rosemary, sea salt & sesame popcorn is the perfect power snack. With a hint of fresh herby rosemary flavour, both my children loved the popcorn especially while we were enjoying our movie night. This is super tasty and flavoursome and I was surprised that both my children loved it as much as they did because of the herby flavour!

Christmas Dinner with Mash Direct

Wouldn’t it be great if you were not spending hours in the kitchen peeling and slicing a mountain of vegetables for a family of 4? Mash Direct is taking away the hassle by providing us a range of award-winning premium vegetable accompaniments. I often find it hard work just to prepare vegetables. I do have lot of kitchen gadgets to help me along but depending on the quantities, sometimes it’s not worth the trouble of getting it out the cupboard and also adding it to the washing up pile. This is my first time trying out Mash Direct and I’ve been looking forward to checking out their products. Their products are available from Ocado, Booths, independent retailers nationwide and http://www.mashdirect.com.

Each product contains specially selected heritage vegetable varieties, chosen for their flavour rather than appearance, grown and prepared on their family-run farm in County Down. The vegetables are gently steam cooked immediately after harvesting to ensure an unrivalled fresh flavour and texture, whilst retaining their natural nutritional benefits. Their products are gluten-free, with no artificial additives, preservatives and colourings, and low in salt.

Eggs in Baguette

Want a quick breakfast to impress your guest? Then you should try this out Eggs in Baguette. This is quick and easy to make. I recently came across this on a TV programme and wanted to make one myself. I must admit that I was quite lazy and bought the baguette from a supermarket.

Christmas Tree Wreath Cake

Christmas tree wreath cake! I can’t believe it is almost December which means Christmas is just a few weeks away now! We have been so busy buying presents, wrapping, writing cards and letters to Santa! Also not forgetting busy keeping our Christmas tradition of building a gingerbread house and making chocolate Christmas trees!

Bella Italia Review

Bella Italia is now open at Middleway Retail and Leisure Park, Burton-upon-Trent. They are surrounded by a cinema, fitness club/sports shop, big clothing brands and many other retailers. You also get up to 4 hours of free parking if you dine at Bella Italia. This £800k restaurant created over 30 new jobs in the area and is now serving up fun, generous, high value, quality Italian dining, 7 days a week from 9am until 11pm.

Christmas Tradition with Tesco

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CollectiveBias

Shopping at Tesco is always a regular choice for me as not only it is a bigger EXTRA store, they also offer a free venue for our Lichfield Mandarin Club every Tuesday from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm. We have been using their community room since last year December for our Chinese class. This works out great for us as my children go to learn their mother’s tongue and I can also have two hours of child free grocery shopping and have some relaxing cup of tea at the in-store Costa.

Some of you might know that I was born in Singapore and my family never celebrated Christmas while we were growing up. As we live here in the UK though, I want my children to have some of the Christmas spirit as their friends do so they don’t miss out. So since two years ago, we started to make a gingerbread house as part of our Christmas tradition at home!

Breakfast with Father Christmas at Wyevale Garden Centre

Did you know that Wyevale Garden Centre is currently running Breakfast or Tea with Father Christmas for you and your family until 24th December 2015? The session lasts for approximately 90 minutes and is suitable for children of all ages. We were so excited to meet Father Christmas and sample their lovely breakfast!

When we arrived, we were shown to our table which was beautifully decorated with a Christmas theme. I also noticed that our local garden centre has yet again updated their décor and furniture too. There is even a huge ceiling heater installed to keep us warm and toasty. Now it has a much fresher look with pots of flowers in every corner of the restaurant. Also, a key improvement for me is the Wi-Fi! No need to suffer patchy and intermittent network!

Once we settled on our table, we were served with drinks like tea and coffee for adults and orange or blackcurrant squash for children. There were activity sheets with crayons for children to entertain themselves before they served our yummy looking breakfast!

Apple & Cinnamon Muffin

Last week, during the half term holiday, we spent a lot of time cooking and baking lot of cakes. I had a lot of cox apples left at home. They were quite small and sour hence both children didn’t want to eat it. So I decided to use them to bake apple and cinnamon muffin. This recipe will make you six muffins.

Stur Drink Review

The creator of Stur Drink came up with the idea for the liquid water enhancer to help his wife to drink more water more naturally whilst pregnant with their twin girls. They went on and developed a range of good-tasting products without any artificial sweeteners, flavour or colours.

In Stur, they use the most premium sources, which includes water extracted to maintain the quality of the stevia sweetener. Each of their products uses a specific blend to allow the natural fruit flavours to come through first, with a hint of sweetness in the background.

Warburtons Giant Crumpets

Did you know that the UK’s number one crumpet brand has just got a ‘hole’ lot bigger, as Warburtons has launched delicious new Giant Crumpets! These thick and fluffy crumpet have grown to almost twice the size of regular crumpets. With its same much loved taste and texture, how can you not give them a try!

This is designed to fit easily inside your toaster. We had this Breville toaster VTT571 which is a perfect fit for Warburtons Toastie loaf and alongside all other Warburtons loaves that toasts completely to the top! This giant crumpet is slightly thicker and it is a snug fit inside the toaster. I only used setting 2 (out of 6) to toast it and it comes out to a perfect temperature.

Chocolate and Walnut Brownies

We have never been a big fan of brownies because they tend to be too dense for our taste buds but I decided to experiment with it as I am trying different types of bakes each week. My son and I tried out this recipe together. It is from The Secret of Cookies which I bought it from Singapore. I have changed some of the ingredients for ingredients more widely available in the UK.

Jamie’s Italian Kids Menu Review

As most people will know, Jamie Oliver has been endlessly promoting a campaign to shape the health and wellbeing of current and future generations and contribute to a healthier world, by providing better access to food education for everyone. We knew that if you were to visit and check out one of his restaurant’s kids’ menu, you would not be disappointed with the choices at all.

Cravendale Challenge

This post is an entry for BritMums #MilkDrinkersMilk Linky Challenge, sponsored by Cravendale.

I recently took up BritMums latest challenge #MilkDrinkersMilk with Cravendale to write about our family’s favourite way to drink Cravendale milk. For us, we use milk in so many different ways, like making a cup of tea or coffee, dunking a favourite biscuit into warm milk, drinking it cold with their favourite chocolate straw, making milkshakes, breads, soups and many more.
