We are no strangers to the FlexiSpot brand and have used many of their innovative ergonomic quality products. I am thrilled to have received this XC6 recliner chair for review.
Did you know that the origin of the XC6 series is name Lotus? This is because the shape of the unfolded XC6 sofa looks like a lotus flower. As for the meaning of lotus, it is a “fruit of forgetfulness”. This comes from the ancient Greek myth that after eating it, one feels happy, relaxed and forgets sorrows, implying that XC6 can make whoever lies on it feel restful, relaxed and happy.
This chair comes in two huge boxes and each box weighs over 15kg. It is best to have two people handling it.
This chair comes in two colours: beige or orange-brown. I have chosen the orange-brown colour. Besides it looking sleek and modern, it closely matches most of our furniture and goes nicely with the white walls. Also, the textured woven fabric material will do a good job of hiding any minor marks. Of course, the beige colour is also very stylish and has a modern look that will go with many styles.
This chair does not come ready-built. I have unpacked and built it all by myself. It took me approximately 30 minutes from opening the boxes to completion. It is very easy and straightforward. There are instructions provided. You can check out my video on how I built this chair and my review on my YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/dDyayp6wh6w
Each part of the chair is rather bulky but I didn’t have any problems handling it. There are no extra tools needed, except scissors to cut the plastic bags off. There is one Allen key and four screws included, and they are for the leg rest.
After removing all the packaging, I placed the cushion onto the backrest. Next, I popped out the leg rest metal mechanics by using the black pull handle found on the right side of the chair. Then I attached the leg rest board in place and screwed them on. This took me at least 10 minutes to tighten all four screws onto the leg rest and the metal mechanics as it was in an odd position.
The seat cushion should then be placed onto the base frame. It was easy to identify the front of the seat cushion as it has a long stitched border across the cushion. Next, place the backrest (with cushion) onto the base frame by clicking it in. Make sure the metals are clicked in securely. Fasten all the fabric materials neatly onto the chair and it is then ready to use.
The chair cushions are filled with high-quality foam that provides ergonomic support for a variety of sitting positions. The stitching on the cushions is excellent and it is very nicely finished all around. There is not a loose thread in sight, no lumpiness and no hard/stiff edges at all. It is made to a high standard. Also, it comes with wide armrests with generous padding, offering extra support for your arms and shoulders. I was able to cross my legs and there was still space for my dog to sit next to me.
It also features hidden storage space on the left side of the chair. Although it is quite small and shallow, I do like this clever storage as I am able to organise the space around it. It is concealed very well into the chair.
This chair allows you to swivel 360° and it is very smooth. It does require plenty of space to allow the chair to swivel around. Once the leg rest is extended out, the chair does not swivel by design.
The chair also embraces a gentle back-and-forth rocking mechanism. Both my children love the novelty of being able to rock on it.
When the leg rest is extended out, you can recline up to 145° which is perfect for reading, or a short nap. XC6 is also refers to the Lotus land: the land of comfort. It is a place of comfort after going home after a tiring work or study.
The chair measures approximately 100 cm by 98 cm by 107 cm, and when it is reclined, it measures approximately 162 cm by 98 cm by 79 cm. It will require quite a bit of free space for the chair to be used to its potential.
This recliner chair is very well-made and has a timeless look that bodes well for its design. It is a great investment for your home. This XC6 recliner chair is available to buy from https://flexispot.co.uk. Look out for their Brand Day event deal before it ends! I will share the link when time is near.
